The Chicago Bears opened the 21-day practice window for cornerback Jaylon Johnson (groin) on Friday, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Johnson is making progress after undergoing core-muscle surgery earlier this season, and the Bears now have 21 days to officially activate the 26-year-old defensive back from Injured Reserve. Johnson was injured in Week 2 against the Detroit Lions, the only game he's appeared in this year. He will not be ready to return for this weekend's game against the division-rival Minnesota Vikings, but depending on how he progresses next week, there's a possibility he'll be back in the fold in Week 12 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Johnson's return in the second half will be great news for a Bears team that leads the league in turnover differential by a wide margin.--Keith Hernandez
