Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 11:
Rachaad White, RB, Buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White will remain as the lead back for at least one more week. White is set to make his fifth straight start with Bucky Irving (shoulder, toe) ruled out for this Week 10 matchup against the New England Patriots. During that time, White has seen a significant increase in playing time, which has resulted in increased fantasy value.
The downside is, White really hasn't found much success on the ground with 41 rushing yards or fewer in three of those four games. He comes into a tough matchup against a Pats defense that has done well against the run. The 26-year-old will likely need to get involved through the air in order to offer RB2 value this weekend.
Keenan Allen, WR, Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen caught two passes for 19 yards on five targets in Sunday's 25-10 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. It was a quiet night statistically, but a historic one: Allen passed Hall of Famer Antonio Gates to become the Chargers' all-time leader in receptions. Unfortunately, the 33-year-old's route rate continues to decline (around 60%) as younger receivers like rookie Tre' Harris are integrated into the offense. His decrease in volume is typical of aging veterans mid to late in the season.
Still, Week 11 offers a bounce-back opportunity against a struggling Jacksonville Jaguars defense that ranks ninth in passing yards allowed and fourth in receiving touchdowns surrendered. If rookie tight end Oronde Gadsden (quad) misses time, Allen could see an uptick in usage. He remains a WR3 with PPR upside, but if he continues to struggle to see volume, he might become more of a fringe WR4 moving forward.
DK Metcalf, WR, Steelers
Over the past two weeks combined, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf has scored just 6.6 half-PPR fantasy points. While there are reasons to be optimistic about the Steelers' offense against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 11, this matchup doesn't project to be a great one for Metcalf specifically.
Cincinnati has surrendered six receiving touchdowns to opposing wideouts, and only one of them went to a clear WR1. In Metcalf's Week 7 meeting with the Bengals, he managed just three receptions for 50 yards. Because Metcalf has not exceeded five receptions in any contest this season, fantasy managers can't rely on volume when deciding whether to start him. The 27-year-old will probably need to hit pay dirt to provide value as a low-end WR2 or flex option this week.
Jauan Jennings, WR, 49ers
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings caught six of his nine targets for 71 receiving yards and a touchdown in Week 10. He also lost a fumble in the team's 42-26 loss to the Rams. The touchdown was Jennings' second in as many weeks and his third of the season. With Ricky Pearsall (knee) and Brandon Aiyuk (knee) out, Jennings is the 49ers' unquestioned WR1. Jennings' production has not met preseason expectations, especially while being targeted on 25.4% of routes run.
Week 10 was just Jennings' second top-24 finish among wide receivers, but as long as he continues seeing that kind of opportunity share, Jennings is still worth keeping in fantasy football lineups. Another good week could be in store when the 49ers face the Cardinals in Week 11. Jennings was inactive when the teams met in Week 3, but Pearsall posted 117 yards on eight catches in that game.
Jerry Jeudy, WR, Browns
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy was ecstatic to be involved early and often in last weekend's loss to the New York Jets, crediting the team's new play-caller with his success. "I think Tommy just put me in a great position to be able to make those plays," Jeudy claimed via Akron Beacon Journal's Chris Easterling. "Yeah, I think that's what it is. I was just in the right position." Head coach Kevin Stefanski indeed relinquished play-calling duties to offensive coordinator Tommy Rees ahead of Week 10's outing.
For one game, at least, it made an impact, as the sixth-year pro snagged his first touchdown of the campaign while also notching his first appearance with more than five grabs. Jeudy's value is largely tied to rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel's output, though things are looking up ahead of their matchup with a recently stingy Baltimore Ravens defense.
