Should I drop Bhayshul Tuten for fantasy football Week 9? Is Bhayshul Tuten a safe player to cut? Read the fantasy football waivers outlook.
The Jacksonville Jaguars just had a week off thanks to being on bye. Is it time for fantasy footballers to wave bye-bye to the team’s backup running back?
Bhayshul Tuten has shown flashes of talent when he has subbed in for top tailback Travis Etienne Jr. this season. Tuten has 32 carries for 130 yards and a touchdown, and has caught six passes for 59 yards and an additional touchdown. He has been solid in serving as Etienne’s reserve runner since the start of the season.
Tuten has not done anyone any fantasy favors recently, though. The fourth-round rookie has not scored a touchdown or even had a 30-yard game in a month. So is it time for fantasy players to move on from Tuten? Here is my take:
Should I Drop Bhayshul Tuten in Fantasy Football?
Unless you have Etienne on your roster and are using Tuten as an insurance policy in case Jacksonville’s star runner gets injured, then Tuten should not take up a spot on your squad. He has not provided any bang for the buck over the past four weeks, and it does not appear like he will be afforded more touches by Jacksonville head coach and offensive guru Liam Coen in the near future.
Etienne has had a nice bounce-back season so far through seven games, as he is on his way to a 1,000-yard year running the ball as long as he stays healthy. There is no reason for him not to be the top tailback in Jacksonville, not when he is averaging over five yards per carry and has looked like the dynamic back he was when he first burst into the NFL.

If you have the roster room and want to hold onto Tuten in case Etienne gets banged up, be my guest. But if you have him stashed at the bottom of your roster with your backup kicker and your third defense, hoping he will get a shot to shine, I think you would be better off saying toodaloo to Tuten.
Who Should I Pickup for Fantasy Football?
Emanuel Wilson, Green Bay Packers
Josh Jacobs is Green Bay’s bellcow back and is showing no signs of slowing down, yet Wilson is still an intriguing option because of what he has done with his small sample size of touches. The young understudy had his best game of the year in Week 8 as he had 11 carries for 61 yards and three catches for 26 yards against Pittsburgh. Jacobs is as durable as they come, but if he gets nicked up in the coming weeks, Wilson would become fantasy gold.
Samaje Perine, Cincinnati Bengals
Samaje Perine racked up 94 rushing yards and a TD last week in Cincinnati’s embarrassing loss to the New York Jets. His rushing attempts have increased in each of the past four games, and he is averaging a superb 6.2 yards per carry on the season. Perine is home this weekend against Chicago’s below-par run defense, so he could be a sneaky low-priced play if you need an RB3 or flex depending on your league’s rules.

Kenneth Gainwell, Pittsburgh Steelers
Many thought Kenneth Gainwell was well on his way to more playing time and touches after rambling for 99 rushing yards and two touchdowns in Week 4, but he has only been on the field for 30-40 percent of the snaps while Jaylen Warren has remained Pittsburgh’s top tailback. But with Gainwell averaging 4.5 yards per carry and adding 23 receptions out of the backfield, he is still one of the best reserve backs to roster in fantasy and is definitely an upgrade over Tuten.
