Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 9:
Chimere Dike, WR, Tennessee Titans
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Chimere Dike caught 7-of-8 targets for 93 yards in Sunday's 38-14 loss to the hosting Indianapolis Colts. He added a yard on his lone carry and chipped in 175 yards on seven kick returns.
The rookie surpassed former teammate Tyler Lockett as the team's preferred slot option a few weeks back and has steadily seen his snap share rise while he takes on a larger role in the offense. On Sunday, Dike ran on more snaps than fellow wideout Van Jefferson for the first time in 2025, leading Tennessee in receptions and yards -- tying for the team lead in targets.
Calvin Ridley's (hamstring) return will dent some of the 23-year-old's value. However, he's clearly ascending and benefits from working closer to the line of scrimmage. Dike should be added in all 12-team formats.
Harold Fannin Jr., TE, Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns tight end Harold Fannin Jr. led the team with eight targets, six catches, 62 yards, and one touchdown during Sunday's Week 8 loss against the New England Patriots. The rookie was one of two Browns tight ends to score on National Tight Ends' Day, joining David Njoku.
Unfortunately for the Browns, Fannin and Njoku were responsible for all of the scoring as Cleveland executed just two scoring drives in their 32-13 loss to the Patriots. Fannin has emerged as a viable starting tight end in fantasy football, ranking as the overall TE5 in PPR leagues so far.
It's not often that we see a rookie tight end produce at such a high level, especially when they are operating in tandem with another tight end (Njoku) in a subpar offense. Nevertheless, Fannin has been one of Dillon Gabriel's favorite targets and will continue to rank as a mid-to-low TE1 on the other side of Cleveland's Week 9 bye.
Ollie Gordon II, RB, Miami Dolphins
Miami Dolphins rookie running back Ollie Gordon II had the most productive game of his career in his team's Week 8 win over the Atlanta Falcons, recording 66 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown on 11 touches. His 10 carries against Atlanta marked the first time he has earned double-digit rush attempts in a game this season.
If Miami can stay in positive game scripts, Gordon II's ability to be a physical downhill runner could be a good complement to the speed of Dolphins RB1 De'Von Achane. Gordon II also profiles as the clear handcuff in Miami to Achane.
The Dolphins have a potentially difficult matchup in Week 9 against the Baltimore Ravens, who are slowly getting healthier on the defensive side of the ball. Gordon II may not carry standalone value in Week 9, but he's still worth rostering in fantasy leagues with 14 or more teams.
