Should I start Luke McCaffrey, Brian Thomas Jr., Keenan Allen for Week 7? Fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks and recommendations for the 2025 NFL season.
We’re nearing the midpoint of the season, and with injuries piling up and bye weeks in full swing, those start/sit decisions are getting tricky.
Brian Thomas Jr., Keenan Allen, and Luke McCaffrey are three wide receivers worth evaluating for Week 7 fantasy lineups, with McCaffrey set to see more opportunities as Deebo Samuel Sr. (heel) and other Washington receivers remain sidelined. Thomas has had a disappointing start, while Allen looks to be regaining his early-career form.
So, should fantasy managers start Thomas, Allen, and McCaffrey in Week 7? Let's dive in and find out.

Should I Start Brian Thomas Jr. for Fantasy Football?
Thomas finally had his breakout game of the 2025 season, and it could have been even bigger. He racked up 90 yards on eight catches (10 targets) and had a 54-yard TD called back because Travis Hunter was lined up offside. There were still a few instances over the middle where you’d like to see him make a stronger play on the ball.

Over the last two weeks, Thomas' first read target rate is up to 29.8%, almost identical to his number as a rookie (29.3%). The arrow is certainly pointed in the right direction, headed into a Week 7 matchup against the Rams in London.
The Rams rank around the middle of the pack when it comes to PPR points allowed to opposing wide receivers, but have also allowed big performances to No. 1 WRs, including Kendrick Bourne going for 142 yards a few weeks ago. Thomas should be in all lineups again as a low-end WR1.
Should I Start Keenan Allen for Fantasy Football?
Allen just earns targets no matter what his situation is. The 33-year-old leads the team with 51 targets this season and ranks as WR21 in PPR points per game through six games. Allen is in a great spot in Week 7 against a super banged-up Colts secondary.

The veteran WR is coming off his quietest game of the season with just four catches for 27 yards on seven targets against Miami. Interestingly, Allen has seen his route share drop over the last two weeks, at 56.9% in Week 5 and 56.3% in Week 6. Rookie Tre Harris has his highest route share of the season (82.8%) and had some really encouraging moments.
Harris received heavy praise from the Chargers coaching staff and could continue to see more snaps in the coming weeks. Allen still has a pretty safe floor due to the high number of targets he draws, plus a favorable matchup against Indianapolis. He can be trusted as a WR2 in Week 7.
Should I Start Luke McCaffrey for Fantasy Football?
With Samuel ruled out with a heel injury that he’s been managing for a couple of weeks, second-year WR McCaffrey will see an increased number of opportunities in Week 7. It's a dream matchup for opposing WRs, allowing the most PPR points per game. While McCaffrey hasn't drawn a high number of targets so far this season (10 total), he's been a playmaker with touchdowns in three touchdowns and an average of 22.4 yards per reception.
McCaffrey’s highest route share this season came in Week 3 at just 43.5%, but he has not exceeded 40% since, which is notable because that was when Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) was injured. That should undoubtedly increase in Week 7 against a Dallas defense that has allowed the most PPR points per game to opposing wide receivers.
The Luke McCaffrey break-out season is real.

In a game with the highest total of the week (54.5), McCaffrey is a viable flex option this week. There is plenty of uncertainty with the Washington passing attack this week, but Jayden Daniels should still be able to move the ball against this weak Dallas defense. McCaffrey has the highest draft pedigree among active Washington receivers on Sunday and has been efficient on his limited touches.
Of the Washington pass catchers, journeyman Chris Moore has run the most routes on the perimeter, while rookie Jaylin Lane profiles best to take some of the Samuel-manufactured touches. McCaffrey also has upside to level up with more volume in Week 7, making him a viable flex option.
