Should I drop Tyrone Tracy Jr. for fantasy football Week 6? Is Tyrone Tracy Jr. a safe player to cut? Read the fantasy football waivers outlook.
New York Giants running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. (shoulder) missed his second game in a row in Week 5 due to a shoulder injury he suffered in Week 3. Tracy has been a fantasy disappointment so far through 2025, with zero games of double-digit PPR fantasy points.
The Giants selected running back Cam Skattebo in the 2025 NFL Draft, and it was clear that he was eating into Tracy's usage early on. With Tracy injured, Skattebo handled 27 touches in Week 4 and 21 in Week 5, calling into question if he's "taken over" the backfield.
Tracy is a dynamic running back and a great athlete, but Skattebo was massively productive in college. Giants RB Devin Singletary had his job taken from him by Tracy quickly last season, so it's not like the Giants aren't willing to move on from their starter. But should Tracy be dropped for fantasy football?

Should I Drop Tyrone Tracy Jr. in Fantasy Football?
I don't recommend dropping him yet. Through the first two games, he didn't look very good, but the Giants' offensive line didn't have their best player, left tackle Andrew Thomas, on the field. In Week 1, Skattebo didn't even gain positive rushing yardage on his two carries.
Tracy immediately looked much improved in Week 3, when Thomas returned to the lineup. He handled 10 of his team's first 13 running back opportunities, with Skattebo only handling three, before Tracy's shoulder injury forced him out of the game.

Skattebo has put some impressive reps on tape, but he's managed under 3.5 yards per carry total in his two games without Tracy. The biggest impediment to his game is his athleticism, of course. He's a strong, physical runner who can break tackles and power through defenders, but he's not very fast.
Tracy has a big speed advantage, so it makes sense to still try to get him the ball in space. The Week 3 usage, with a fully healthy offensive line, indicates that the Giants aren't interested in just giving up on Tracy yet. With the OL in good shape, Tracy could still be productive for fantasy football.
I don't recommend dropping him yet. In fact, it's probably a good idea to snag him off waivers if he's available in your league.
Who Should I Pickup for Fantasy Football?
The running back position is typically tough to get production from on the waiver wire, but depending on the league you're in, there are a few obvious candidates to snag. Carolina Panthers running back Rico Dowdle just ran for over 200 yards and scored over 30 PPR fantasy points in Week 5. You should grab him if you can.
Arizona Cardinals RB Michael Carter also had a nice game on Sunday. He scored 18.3 PPR fantasy points and dominated the backfield usage in the absence of James Conner (ankle), who's out for the season, and Trey Benson (knee), who's on injured reserve.

New Orleans Saints RB Kendre Miller out-carried his team's lead back, Alvin Kamara, for the first time this season. Kamara is 30 years old, so a decline in his level of play isn't a big surprise. Miller could take over the starting job, though getting passing down work is far from a guarantee.
