A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith Frustrated with Current Roles
A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith are reportedly frustrated with their roles in the offense, particularly in the red zone, according to Dianna Russini. Both stars have gotten off to sluggish starts in 2025, ranking 68th and 69th in receiving yards through four weeks. The struggles stem from the Eagles' offensive philosophy. Philadelphia currently ranks 32nd in pass attempts, 31st in passing yards per game, and 3rd in rushing attempts per game. While the ground-heavy approach has the team sitting at 4-0, it has left Brown and Smith underutilized. Week 5 won't provide much relief. The Eagles face Patrick Surtain II and the Denver Broncos, who have allowed the third-fewest fantasy points to wide receivers this season. Until the Eagles increase passing volume, both Brown and Smith remain risky starts in fantasy, with their ceilings capped by offensive balance that heavily favors the run.
