College Football DFS Rankings for Week 5 - Daily Fantasy Expert Picks (Saturday, 9/27/25)

Haynes King - College Football Rankings, CFB DFS Picks, NFL Draft

Brad's college football DFS rankings for Week 5 on 9/27/25. His daily fantasy college football rankings for QBs, RBs, and WRs and the DFS slates on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Week 5 of the College Football season is where we start to get into the grind of the season. This is the first week where injuries and late news are likely to be a big factor in fantasy plays. We have a few up-tempo games and a few avoidable contests that should help, but the news will be key this week.

As we have seen in Daily Fantasy this year, wide receivers continue to be cheap, while there are a plethora of quarterbacks who could break the slate. Pairing those options up may be the key in GPPs, while cash games will likely be who can fit in the best value plays with the top-end studs.

In the article below, you will find my CFB DFS lineup picks for Week 5 (Saturday, September 27) via my positional college football rankings. Use these CFB DFS rankings when building daily fantasy college football on DraftKings, and be sure to read the rest of our CFB DFS articles and CFB betting articles as well. Good luck, RotoBallers!

CFB DFS Quarterback Rankings

QB Cash Rankings Per $ QB GPP Rankings Per $
1 Marcel Reed 1 Brendan Sorsby
2 Joey Aguilar 2 Trinidad Chambliss
3 Haynes King 3 Marcel Reed
4 Trinidad Chambliss 4 Sawyer Robertson
5 Sawyer Robertson 5 Joey Aguilar
6 Brendan Sorsby 6 Haynes King
7 Eli Holstein 7 Eli Holstein
8 Devon Dampier 8 Devon Dampier
9 Jayden Maiava 9 Garrett Nussmeier
10 Taylen Green 10 Miller Moss

Just as was the case last week, it really is hard to argue with any of the top 10 options for quarterback in cash games this week. All have massive upside and are priced reasonably. The best thing about this week's group is that all, except Sawyer Robertson, are dual-threat options. There is a chance that we have multiple players who get the double rushing and passing bonus this week.

In GPP, I would lean towards the lower-priced plays that will be a bit off the radar. Brendan Sorsby has been the do-it-all option for Cincinnati this year, with four rushing touchdowns and eight passing touchdowns thus far. As noted above, keep an eye on injuries at the running back spot. If Desmond Reid for Pitt and Isaac Brown for Louisville are out, both Eli Holstein and Miller Moss should see increased carries.

CFB DFS Running Back Rankings

RB Cash Rankings Per $ RB GPP Rankings Per $
1 Jeremiyah Love 1 Bryson Washington
2 Bryson Washington 2 Jeremiyah Love
3 Le'Veon Moss 3 Kewan Lacy
4 Jonah Coleman 4 Leshon Williams
5 Kewan Lacy 5 Rodney Fields Jr.
6 Jamal Haynes 6 Jonah Coleman
7 Leshon Williams 7 Le'Veon Moss
8 Waymond Jordan 8 Waymond Jordan
9 Rodney Fields Jr. 9 Jamal Haynes
10 Fluff Bothwell 10 Jadarian Price

As noted above, this week may be all about injuries at the running back spot. I would look to avoid those in cash games, as stalwarts in Jeremiyah Love, Jonah Coleman, and Bryson Washington appear too good to pass up in cash games. If you want to save money, Leshon Williams and Rodney Fields Jr. appear to be the new top backs for their teams and still have a backup price tag.

In GPP, Love and Washington still carry the most upside, but down the list are some lesser-used plays that could hit big. Waymond Jordan could take advantage of an Illinois defense that gave up 63 points last week, while Jadarian Price is always rostered at a low rate due to being Love's backup at Notre Dame.

CFB DFS Wide Receiver Rankings

WR Cash Rankings Per $ WR GPP Rankings Per $
1 Jeremiah Smith 1 Chris Brazzell II
2 Mario Craver 2 Mario Craver
3 Chris Brazzell II 3 Kobe Prentice
4 O'Mega Blake 4 Josh Cameron
5 Harrison Wallace III 5 Cam Coleman
6 Kobe Prentice 6 Jeremiah Smith
7 Makai Lemon 7 O'Mega Blake
8 Carnell Tate 8 Carnell Tate
9 KC Concepcion 9 KC Concepcion
10 Omar Cooper Jr. 10 Harrison Wallace III

Another week, another set of undervalued wide receiver plays. Unlike last week, we do have Jeremiah Smith up top in what should be his first competitive game in a few weeks. Studs such as Mario Craver at Texas A&M and Chris Brazzell II at Tennessee still have not seen their prices match their performance, so they should be easy cash game plays.

In GPP, you can take a swing on some cheap options such as Kobe Prentice for Baylor, who has at least 9.5 points in every game thus far this season. Also, look at the "other guy" for some of the high-powered offenses, such as KC Concepcion at Texas A&M and Carnell Tate for Ohio State. With usage going to the bigger names, these players could hit huge in GPPs and game stacks.
