The St. Louis Cardinals are expected to promote second base prospect Cesar Prieto. Prieto has spent the vast majority of the past three campaigns at the Triple-A level and is finally being rewarded with an MLB promotion. In 2025, Prieto appeared in 107 games for the Memphis Redbirds. Through this sitnt, Prieto hasp osted a solid .295/.359/.448 line with 29 doubles, nine home runs, and 11stolen bases. During the 2024 campaign, Prieto held a lower .279/.318/.445 line with 14 home runs and five stolen bases across a 129-game stint with the Redbirds. Fantasy managers should monitor status in the majors as the Cardinals could look to give him a starting role during the final weeks of the season. Given his steady progress at Triple-A, he is worth a look in deeper NL-only formats for the time being.--Andy Smith
