Los Angeles Dodgers second baseman Hyeseong Kim (shoulder) is slated to be activated off the injured list when rosters expand on September 1, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports. Kim began a minor-league rehab assignment on August 21 and has done well, slashing .273/.292/.273 through six games. By waiting until after rosters expand to activate Kim, the Dodgers wouldn't need to clear room for him with another transaction. Kim has been solid when he gets his opportunities in the majors, slashing .304/.338/.406 in 138 at-bats, but is limited by the loaded roster the Dodgers have, and was not playing every day. Most notably, he has started playing left field with Triple-A Oklahoma City, which could allow manager Dave Roberts to get Kim into the game in more ways.--Nicho Roessler
