Atlanta Braves infielder Nacho Alvarez Jr. (side) is starting at third base and is batting eighth in the second game of the series on Friday against the division-rival Miami Marlins and right-hander Edward Cabrera at Truist Park. Alvarez dealt with some side soreness on Wednesday and sat out the season opener on Thursday against Miami. The 22-year-old will return to the lineup this weekend and will play regularly at the hot corner in Atlanta with Austin Riley (abdomen) back on the injured list. Alvarez has gone 3-for-10 since replacing Riley a second time at third base, but he doesn't offer much fantasy upside offensively, especially at the bottom of a struggling Braves lineup. On the season, he's gone 9-for-40 (.225) and is still searching for his first homer going into his 21s career MLB game.--Keith Hernandez
