Nacho Alvarez Jr. Back in Starting Lineup
Nacho Alvarez Jr. (side) is starting at third base and is batting eighth in the second game of the series on Friday against the division-rival Miami Marlins and right-hander Edward Cabrera at Truist Park. Alvarez dealt with some side soreness on Wednesday and sat out the season opener on Thursday against Miami. The 22-year-old will return to the lineup this weekend and will play regularly at the hot corner in Atlanta with Austin Riley (abdomen) back on the injured list. Alvarez has gone 3-for-10 since replacing Riley a second time at third base, but he doesn't offer much fantasy upside offensively, especially at the bottom of a struggling Braves lineup. On the season, he's gone 9-for-40 (.225) and is still searching for his first homer going into his 21s career MLB game.
