Yankees Acquiring Ryan McMahon From Rockies
Ryan McMahon from the Colorado Rockies on Friday in exchange for pitching prospects Griffin Herring and Josh Grosz, a source tells MLB.com's Mark Feinsand. McMahon will join the Bronx Bombers as their starting third baseman as the Yankees look to get back to the World Series this fall. The 30-year-old McMahon is leaving one of the most hitter-friendly parks in baseball in Coors Field for Yankee Stadium's short porch in right field, but he'll be leaving the worst team in baseball for one of the better ones. McMahon was an All-Star for the first time last year but has hit just .217/.314/.403 with 16 home runs, 35 RBI, 42 runs and a league-leading 127 strikeouts in 100 games in 2025. A change of scenery and a better lineup around him could certainly help McMahon finish the year much stronger.
