The Seattle Mariners traded pitching prospects Ashton Izzi and Brandyn Garcia to the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for first baseman Josh Naylor. The right-hander has started 12 games at High-A this year and has struggled a bit with a 5.51 ERA, 1.56 WHIP, with a better 15.2 percent strikeout-minus walk-rate in 47.1 innings. The 21-year-old had better surface-level results at Low-A in 2024 with a 2.85 ERA. Izzi owns a wide five-pitch mix with a four-seam, sinker, slider, sweeper, and changeup. He's able to get great extension down the mound at 7 feet with a 5.8' release height. The slider is his best chase and whiff pitch, and his strike-throwing will be an area to watch for his development.--Kyle McCarthy
