Austin Riley Placed on 10-Day Injured List
Austin Riley (abdomen) on the 10-day injured list with a strained right abdomen. The club recalled infielder Nacho Alvarez Jr. from Triple-A Gwinnett to take Riley's roster spot. Riley suffered the injury during the Braves' 6-5 win over the Cardinals on Friday, forcing him to exit in the fourth inning after going 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run. Riley missed 52 games last year, largely because of a fractured hand, but had stayed healthy this season up to now. He has started in all 93 of Atlanta's games and hit .274/.324/.441 with 14 homers, 48 RBI, and 51 runs scored over 408 trips to the plate. Luke Williams, who subbed in for Riley on Friday, is the only other Brave who has seen time at the hot corner this year.
