Fantasy Football Outlooks for Davante Adams, Cooper Kupp, Stefon Diggs: Draft Sleepers or Avoids?

There have been many moving parts in the NFL this offseason, as many stars will be playing for new teams this season. Deebo Samuel Sr. was traded to the Washington Commanders, DK Metcalf found a new home with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Geno Smith will be the starting quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders. 

Three more players to note who will be playing for a new team in 2025 are Davante Adams, Cooper Kupp, and Stefon Diggs. All three wide receivers are in the latter part of their careers and are hoping that scenery could help them stay relevant in the NFL. There's a chance these three veterans could be sneaky value picks in 2025 fantasy football drafts. 

So, should fantasy managers draft Adams, Kupp, or Diggs in fantasy drafts? Let's dive in and analyze the fantasy football outlooks for those three veteran wide receivers on new teams.

Davante Adams Fantasy Football Outlook

Adams has been one of the best fantasy wide receivers for almost the last decade. He has finished as a top-14 fantasy wide receiver in PPR formats in eight of his past nine years, including as the WR11 during the 2024 season. The veteran began the 2024 campaign with the Raiders before being traded to the New York Jets in mid-October. 

While there were some inconsistencies with Adams in his first few weeks back with Aaron Rodgers, they rekindled their connection on the field after the team's Week 12 bye. The Pro Bowl wideout only averaged 11.96 PPR fantasy points in his first five games in a Jets uniform before averaging 22.8 PPR fantasy points in his final six games from Week 13 to Week 18. 

That strong stretch to end the season helped Adams finish as a WR1 in PPR formats, marking the fifth straight year he has finished as a top-12 option at the position. The 32-year-old averaged 17.2 PPR fantasy points per game in 2024 and finished with 85 catches for 1,063 yards and eight touchdowns across 14 games. 

Adams will now be a part of a new offense in 2025 after signing a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams in free agency. The Jets decided to cut ties with the veteran in the offseason, and the Rams quickly signed him. This addition now gives Los Angeles two WR1s in its offense, as Adams will join Puka Nacua to form an elite wide receiver duo.

Playing alongside Nacua might not be the best news for Adams' fantasy value. However, the 11-year veteran should see plenty of opportunities in this Los Angeles offense. The Rams have been known as one of the pass-friendliest offenses in the NFL over the past few years, and quarterback Matthew Stafford has completed over 325 passes in four of his last five seasons. 

Therefore, Adams should be a viable WR2 option for fantasy managers in 2025. Kupp earned a 26.2% target share in that WR2 role in this offense last year, and there's no reason why the new Rams wideout can't see over 140 targets this year. 

That makes him a nice high-floor target in the fourth round of fantasy drafts. Adams is still one of the best wide receivers in the league and essentially replaces Kupp in Los Angeles' offense. Given the chance for another double-digit touchdown season, the 6-foot-1 playmaker will be a reliable WR2 play each week. 

Cooper Kupp Fantasy Football Outlook

Since finishing as the overall WR1 and winning the receiving triple crown in 2021, Kupp has dealt with numerous injuries that have capped his fantasy upside. He missed the final eight games of the 2022 season due to an ankle injury, started the 2023 campaign on injured reserve due to a hamstring strain, and only played in 12 games last year. 

In those three years, Kupp finished as the WR23 (2022), WR40 (2023), and WR38 (2024) in PPR formats. Now, at 32 years old, the wideout's best days are likely behind him. He has totaled under 850 receiving yards in three straight seasons, and injuries continue to hold him back. The veteran has played in just 33 of 51 possible games since 2022. 

However, that doesn't mean Kupp can't be a viable WR3/flex play in fantasy this season. After the Rams released him earlier in the offseason, the 6-foot-1 wideout found a new home with the Seattle Seahawks. He signed a three-year, $45 million contract with Seattle toward the middle of March, giving the Seahawks another playmaker in their offense. 

With Mecalf leaving, Kupp should immediately jump into that WR2 role. Seattle only added Marquez Valdes-Scantling (free agency) and Tory Horton (fifth-round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft) this offseason, which should be an encouraging sign that the team still believes the veteran has plenty left in the tank.

Fantasy managers surely saw that last season, as Kupp totaled at least 80 receiving yards in five of his 12 games. While he has surely lost a step, there is room for him to stay fantasy-relevant in 2025. If the Sam Darnold of last season shows up for the Seahawks, the veteran wideout could be a weekly WR3 for fantasy managers. 

Darnold ranked fifth in air yards (4,191), fifth in passing touchdowns (35), 13th in true completion percentage (71.8%), and ninth in true passer rating (104.3) among all quarterbacks last year. Repeating those numbers in Seattle might be tough, but if he's near the quarterback he was with the Vikings, Kupp should be a reliable fantasy option. 

Therefore, Kupp is worth a dart throw in the eighth or ninth round of drafts. He is the second option on a Seahawks offense that doesn't have many weapons outside of Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Even though Smith-Njigba will probably lead this team in targets, receptions, and receiving yards, Kupp's potential usage underneath could make him a sneaky PPR target. 

Stefon Diggs Fantasy Football Outlook

The fantasy world was shocked when the Buffalo Bills traded Diggs to the Houston Texans during the 2024 offseason. Not many fantasy managers knew what to expect from the veteran in his first year with the team, considering Houston had two explosive wide receivers in Nico Collins and Tank Dell already on the roster. 

Nevertheless, Diggs fit in quite nicely in his first few weeks on his new team. He caught six passes for 33 yards and two touchdowns in Week 1 against the Indianapolis Colts and then caught 10 passes for 94 yards in a Week 3 game against the Minnesota Vikings. Performances like that helped the longtime Bills wideout emerge as a consistent fantasy option. 

He averaged 15.2 PPR fantasy points in his first eight games and finished as a top-15 fantasy wide receiver in PPR formats in half of those contests (four). Unfortunately, Diggs suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 8 against the Colts. The four-time Pro Bowler went down with a non-contact injury that eventually turned out to be a torn ACL. 

That injury was a tough break for Diggs. He became a reliable target in the middle of the field for quarterback C.J. Stroud and had 47 catches for 496 yards and three touchdowns through the first eight weeks. With the veteran set to be a free agent at the end of the year, many thought this was the end for him. 

At his age, coming off a major knee injury, this could have been the end for Diggs. However, the veteran still has more to prove. He signed a three-year deal with the New England Patriots this offseason and is already moving well on the field. He ran routes and was seen cutting at New England's OTAs in June.

As of now, there is no timeline set for when Diggs will appear in games this season. Since his ACL injury occurred in late October, there is a strong chance that he will miss a few games to start the season. The Patriots likely don't want to rush him back too soon. So, his average draft position (ADP) could continue to fall in drafts. 

However, he is a great WR4 or WR5 target in fantasy drafts this season. He should be the top option for Drake Maye in this New England offense once he's healthy, and Diggs fits perfectly with the Patriots. Maye ranked 27th in yards per attempt (6.7), 30th in adjusted yards per attempt (5.7), and 26th in air yards per attempt (7.3) among all quarterbacks. 

That means Maye threw a bunch of passes near the line of scrimmage in his rookie season. That short area is exactly where Diggs caught most of his passes in 2024, as he ranked 68th in yards per target (7.8) and 94th in yards per reception (10.4) among all wideouts.

Therefore, fantasy managers should potentially take a chance on Diggs in the later rounds. He looked solid running during OTAs, and the Patriots have been impressed with his recovery progress since signing with the team in late March. The 31-year-old could be a viable flex play throughout the season on an ascending Patriots offense.
