The New York Yankees have placed reliever Yerry De los Santos (elbow) on the 15-day injured list this past Thursday with elbow discomfort. Presumably, the injury occurred in the 27-year-old's most recent outing against the Los Angeles Angels the day prior, in which he yielded a hit and a walk in a third of an inning. New York signed left-hander Jayvien Sandridge to a major league contract to replace De Los Santos and called him up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Fortunately, his MRI on Saturday came back clean, with manager Aaron Boone noting it showed "nothing acute or new." It's unclear if the Dominican Republic native will return when he's first eligible, though it seems unlikely due to the nature of his injury.--Alex Ciulla
