Shane Baz Posts Quality Start on Sunday
Shane Baz turned in a quality start while earning the win in a 9-0 victory over the New York Mets on Sunday. Baz tossed 6 2/3 innings of shutout ball while scattering three hits and striking out six. He was a little wild as he walked four batters while throwing just 60 of 106 pitches for strikes, but he was able to prevent those free passes from coming around to hurt him in the shutout. Baz now has a 6-3 record, 4.54 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, and 71 strikeouts over 77 1/3 innings of work on the season. He will look to build upon that strong start in his next outing, which will be against the Detroit Tigers on Friday.
