The new year means Super Tuesday returns to the college basketball world. DraftKings is once again offering up more games across two slates instead of just one giant slate. I'll take that! The sweet spot for games is usually around 6-8 anyway. We have more than that on the main slate, but with some tough defenses in action, we can probably cross a couple of games off. We start this off a bit early in Cincinnati with St. John's facing Xavier.
The normal start times see Pitt heading south to deal with the Crazies in Cameron. Clemson is in Louisville for some KFC Yum! Georgia Tech is in the Loud House to face the Orange. Arizona is in Morgantown to face West Virginia. Tennessee goes Gator hunting in Gainesville. Kentucky is in Athens to take on Georgia. Nebraska heads to Iowa City to take on the Hawkeyes. Cincinnati is in Waco to take on Baylor. Utah heads to Ames for some Hilton Magic. K-State is in Stillwater to take on the Pokes. We end this in Milwaukee with Georgetown taking on Marquette.

We may have to evaluate whether it was Tyler Kolek who made Marquette what they were last year, or if it was Jones. I feel like this ability has been there all along. No one has done more for their draft stock than Jones by returning this year. Returning to the same spot made it easier for Jones.
I can (and will) make a case for fading the entire upper tier of guards, but if you're using one, it should be Jones. He does so many things that it's almost impossible for him to finish with a bad DFS night. Jones hasn't been under 30 DraftKings points in normal minutes since the Georgia game on November 23.
Chaz Lanier, Tennessee ($8.6K)
Dalton Knecht through 14 games last year:
15.1 PPG, 4.1 RBD, 1.6 AST (45.3% FG, 36.1% 3-PT, 80.4% FT) 211 total points

What really makes those stats so unbelievable is that Tennessee has played an overall tougher schedule this year. The Vols played Purdue, Kansas, and North Carolina back-to-back-to-back last November. Still, other than that, the schedule is nearly the same (Syracuse and Illinois both years, Baylor, Louisville, Virginia, and Miami this year instead of the big three in 2023).
It's unreal for Lanier to perform that far ahead of Knecht. Lanier isn't as good a shooter as Knecht (few are), but he's a better defender. His ceiling isn't as high as many of his peers, but Lanier has a better matchup than most at a lower price.
V.J. Edgecombe, Baylor ($7.6K)
Edgecombe managed to put up 26.25 DraftKings points against a really good Iowa State team over the weekend in Ames while only making one shot from the floor. Before that game, Edgecombe had at least 30 DraftKings points in eight of the nine games in which he played 25 minutes or more. His price feels low for what he is capable of.
Drew Thelwell, Iowa ($5.9K)
I'm not rushing to play guys against the Nebraska defense, but we can't ignore what Thelwell has done lately. He has at least 20 DraftKings points in five straight, tipping the scales with 39.75 over the weekend against Wisconsin in a blowout loss. Thelwell is a great spot shooter and has proven to be one of the better threats for the Hawkeyes in the first two months.
Javian McCollum, Georgia Tech ($5.2K)
McCollum has poured in 59 points in the last three games, giving the Bees a much-needed scoring boost. He started the last two of those games against ACC foes Notre Dame and Boston College. The going is a little tougher tonight, but McCollum will have free reign to shoot as much as he wants to with as hot as he is.

I know that's a betting post, but that highlights all of the reasons I'm playing Omier tonight. Not many will go back after Iowa State shut him down and Cincinnati's defense on paper is better than in reality.
Zach Freemantle and Eric Dixon had big games on the Bearcats. Omier isn't as polished offensively as Dixon is, but he's close to Freemantle and is better on the glass and at the rim than both. The potential is high and the ownership should be low.
Zuby Ejiofor, St. John's ($8.4K)
I don't know what we did to deserve this price, but I'm not complaining. Ejiofor just missed his seventh straight game over 30 DraftKings points (29) against Butler over the weekend. Harvard and Virginia are the only other teams to hold him under that mark since November 13. Expect Ejiofor in the 30s again tonight.
Igor Milicic Jr., Tennessee ($7.1K)
Milicic has dominated the glass over the last three games. If he can keep his scoring up like he did against Arkansas, Milicic can put up some big numbers. If he is going to be the force that Tobe Awaka never quite was for Tennessee, this team is going to be nearly impossible to beat.
Baye Ndongo, Georgia Tech ($6.8K)
Ndongo has scored in double figures in five straight games, but fouls are becoming a massive problem. Ndongo has committed 13 fouls in just 49 minutes of court time over the last three games. If he can stay on the court for 30 minutes, he's a walking double-double. I love the potential for the price in GPPs, but he's hard to trust right now.
Josh Ojianwuna, Baylor ($5.8K)
Ojianwuna not only managed to stay out of foul trouble against the Cyclones, but he turned in a double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds) in by far his best performance of the season. After watching that performance, I'm all in at this price.
Caleb Williams, Georgetown ($4.7K)
Williams joined the starting five four games ago and has averaged 6.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 0.75 steals, and 0.5 blocks. That's exactly the kind of return I'm looking for at this price. Williams won't win a slate, but he's not going to lose one either.
