FanDuel NBA DFS Picks for Today (Monday 12/30/24): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Tyrese Maxey - NBA DFS Picks, Daily Fantasy Basketball Rankings, Injury News

CeeGee's favorite FanDuel NBA DFS picks for today, Monday 12/30/24. His top daily fantasy basketball lineup sleepers and value picks for FanDuel DFS contests.

Happy Monday Rotoballers! We've got a perfectly sized 7-game slate to kick off the week. This slate is loaded with intriguing matchups, offering a perfect mix of high-floor players for cash games and upside targets for GPPs. With key injuries impacting rotations and FanDuel-specific pricing creating value opportunities, understanding tonight’s landscape is critical. I'm here to provide you with solid core plays, tournament pivots, and value picks to help you build winning FanDuel lineups tonight.

Injuries and late news can change the slate drastically, so keep an eye on updates leading up to lineup lock. Let’s dive into today’s top core picks, tournament plays, and value options on FanDuel!

This article will provide my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 12/30/24. Remember to monitor NBA injury news and our awesome NBA injuries report tool, as the slate can completely change before lineups lock at 7:00 p.m. EST on FanDuel.

FanDuel NBA DFS Core Picks

Nikola Jokic - DEN - C ($12,400)

Jokic is not just the best raw fantasy point producer on tonight’s slate he’s a priority for me in any build. The Nuggets-Jazz game boasts the highest total on the slate (239.5), a dream scenario for Jokic’s elite fantasy production. Despite a slight dip in recent games, Jokic remains an efficiency monster, averaging 1.72 FanDuel points per minute.

Utah’s frontcourt, anchored by Walker Kessler, has struggled against versatile bigs who can stretch the floor and dominate in the paint. Jokic’s 29% usage rate coupled with his rebounding (12.6 RPG) and assist upside makes him a lock in cash games, and his triple-double potential gives him unparalleled tournament-winning upside.

Tyrese Maxey - PHI - PG ($8,800)

Maxey has emerged as the 76ers' go-to scorer, especially when Joel Embiid is sidelined or limited. Over his last three games, Maxey has averaged 44.4 FanDuel points per game, fueled by a 30% usage rate. Tonight, he faces a Trail Blazers team ranked 27th in defensive rating, giving him a significant matchup edge. Portland also struggles to defend opposing guards, allowing high assist and scoring rates.

Maxey’s ability to create his own shot and run the offense guarantees him a high floor, while his ability to light it up from beyond the arc and get to the free-throw line provides GPP-winning potential.

Domantas Sabonis - SAC - PF/C ($9,500)

Sabonis is one of the most consistent fantasy performers, making him an elite play in both cash games and tournaments. He leads the slate in rebounding rate and is coming off a three-game stretch where he’s averaged 50.2 FanDuel points per game. Against Dallas, a team that struggles to defend the paint and ranks 17th in rebounding rate, Sabonis has a chance to dominate inside.

With a 22% usage rate and his ability to facilitate the offense (6.0 APG), Sabonis contributes in multiple categories, giving him a safe floor. His recent uptick in scoring (21.1 PPG) provides a ceiling that justifies his salary.

Paul George - LAC - SF ($7,800)

Paul George is a strong mid-tier option tonight, offering both consistency and upside. In his last three games, George has averaged 34.8 FanDuel points per game with a steady 25% usage rate. While the pace of this game against New Orleans is slower (99.1 projected pace), the Pelicans' defense is vulnerable on the wings, ranking 29th in defending opposing small forwards.

George provides a solid floor for cash lineups. If his shot is falling, he can exceed value and deliver a ceiling-worthy performance for tournaments, especially given his role as a primary scorer when Kawhi Leonard draws the tougher defensive assignments.

FanDuel NBA DFS Tournament Pivots

Norman Powell - LAC - SG/SF ($7,100)

Powell is emerging as a fantastic tournament play due to his recent production surge and ability to stay under the radar. Averaging 35.9 FD points over the last three games, Powell is thriving as a secondary scoring option for the Clippers.

The matchup against New Orleans provides additional upside, as the Pelicans rank 24th in opponent 3-point percentage. Powell’s combination of shot creation and scoring efficiency makes him a strong pivot at a mid-tier salary, and his recent consistency provides upside without significant ownership risk.

Evan Mobley - CLE - PF/C ($8,700)

Mobley’s potential tonight lies in his versatility and ability to contribute across multiple categories. Against Golden State, his defensive presence and rebounding prowess give him a high ceiling. The Warriors’ small-ball lineups often force opposing big men into significant minutes, and Mobley’s athleticism allows him to thrive in such scenarios.

Averaging 39.4 FD points per game over the last three, Mobley offers strong tournament appeal, particularly given his ability to exploit mismatches inside. His offensive upside is boosted by Cleveland’s offensive system, where he can capitalize on putbacks and mid-range jumpers, making him a sneaky GPP target.

Collin Sexton - UTA - SG/PG ($6,200)

Sexton becomes a compelling pivot with Keyonte George questionable. Sexton has been a spark plug off the bench, averaging 27.4 FD points per game over the last three contests. Tonight’s fast-paced matchup against Denver (projected pace: 101.0) suits Sexton’s style of play, as he thrives in up-tempo games where his scoring ability can shine.

Denver’s backcourt defense is solid but not impervious, and Sexton’s ability to create his own shot and draw fouls gives him significant upside. At this price point, he’s a low-ownership play capable of exceeding 6x value, making him a strong GPP option.

Andrew Wiggins - GSW - SF/PF ($6,100)

Wiggins is quietly rounding into form, averaging 30.7 FD points per game over his last three contests. Tonight, he faces a Cleveland defense that excels in the paint but has vulnerabilities on the perimeter, where Wiggins does most of his damage. His ability to contribute in multiple categories provides a stable floor, while his scoring upside offers a ceiling worth targeting in tournaments.

With the Warriors likely leaning on Wiggins’ offensive production to balance their small-ball lineups, he’s a risk-reward play capable of smashing value at his modest salary. His versatility and low ownership make him a strong contrarian pivot.

FanDuel NBA DFS Value Picks

Vasilije Micic - CHA - PG/SG ($4,100)

Micic is a standout value option tonight with LaMelo Ball sidelined, stepping into a starting role as Charlotte’s primary ball-handler. At just $4,100, he provides a strong combination of usage and opportunity, particularly in a matchup against the Bulls. Chicago’s defense has struggled against opposing guards, ranking near the bottom in defensive efficiency against ball-handlers.

Micic’s ability to facilitate the offense and score in spurts gives him a solid floor for cash games, while his potential to log 25+ minutes boosts his ceiling. At this salary, Micic allows you to fit higher-priced stars like Nikola Jokic into your lineup without sacrificing upside.

Trey Murphy III - NOP - SG/SF ($7,000)

Murphy continues to play a significant role for the Pelicans, logging 33.6 minutes per game and averaging 32.8 FanDuel points over his last three outings. His 3-point shooting is the key to his fantasy value, and he draws a favorable matchup against a Clippers defense that ranks 24th in opponent 3-point percentage.

Murphy thrives on spot-up opportunities and transition looks, making him a strong mid-range value option with both floor and ceiling appeal. His consistent minutes and scoring upside position him as a safe cash play and a sneaky GPP option.

Mark Williams - CHA - C ($5,800)

Williams offers elite per-minute production, averaging 1.58 FanDuel points per minute. Despite his minutes being somewhat capped, his efficiency makes him a prime value play in both cash games and tournaments. Against a Bulls team that ranks in the bottom half of the league in rebounding rate, Williams has a high likelihood of dominating the glass and contributing blocks and steals.

At just $5,800, he has 30+ FD point upside, making him a strong GPP punt option with significant value potential.

Dean Wade - CLE - SF/PF ($4,400)

Wade has stepped into a larger role for Cleveland and has been a reliable source of salary relief. Over his last three games, he’s averaged 17.5 FD points while logging significant minutes. With Golden State playing small-ball lineups, Wade’s versatility as a stretch forward will be valuable.

He can chip in with rebounds, 3-point shooting, and defensive stats, giving him a balanced floor. At $4,400, Wade is an ideal low-risk play for cash games, allowing you to save salary for high-ceiling players elsewhere in your lineup.
