Fantasy Football Dynasty Watch: Top College Fantasy Football Players Week 12 (2024)

Mike Marteny takes a look at 2024 breakout collegiate stars who will be available in your fantasy football dynasty drafts within the next year or two. Who shined in Week 12 of the 2024 season?

Welcome back to another season of Fantasy Football Dynasty Watch, where I highlight the best and brightest performances from the college football week. The Big 12 (16) took center stage this week, and Tennessee fell to the ranks of most SEC contenders with two losses. Here are the players who showed up that you may have missed last week.

We will introduce you to these college players earlier than many of your fantasy football league mates. We here at RotoBaller are all about giving you an advantage. If you paid attention to this column last year, you would have known about Kimani Vidal and Xavier Worthy long before their performances at the NFL Combine.

I will highlight one quarterback, running back, wide receiver, and tight end every week of the college season who put up some huge numbers. I'll let you know what it means for your dynasty leagues. Do these guys have NFL futures? You'll find out!

Fantasy Football Dynasty Watch: Quarterbacks

I will be the first to tell you that play wouldn't fly in the NFL, but I'm more interested in the second part of it. The effortless pass 20 yards down the field directly at the target. That's the kind of play that will get Sellers recognized.

Sellers is another very talented freshman quarterback in a class full of them. He is improving as the season goes on, which is SEC play. Sellers has nine of his 14 passing touchdowns of the season in November. We have seen his maturation as a passer. He is no longer just a talented athlete with a strong arm.

Sellers is elusive for his size (6-foot-3, 242 pounds), conjuring up images of Daunte Culpepper. He's sturdy enough to take hits and get back up yet elusive enough to avoid the worst of them. That's an underrated NFL trait.

Sellers will not be draft eligible until 2026, but remember the name. He had a couple of flashes of brilliance so far in 2024, with the Missouri game standing out on the stat sheet.

Hampton is the lone bright spot on a mediocre-at-best North Carolina team. The quarterback is a constant question mark. The receivers are average. The O-line got the starting QB hurt in the first quarter of the first game. Hampton has not only succeeded behind that terrible line but thrived.

Hampton has all of the tools NFL teams covet. He's solid, has breakaway speed, great vision, and he's not afraid to block. Perhaps best of all is his 60 receptions over the last two years. He's a force in the passing game as well, making Hampton versatile enough to play every down if some team wants to use him that way. He's similar to Najee Harris but with more breakaway speed.

We're going to highlight another underclassman who can't enter the draft for another couple of years. Most of you have heard his name before, but he has been the victim of playing in an offense that has had trouble moving the ball this season. Stanford is starting to play better as a unit, allowing the talent of Mosley to shine through.

Mosley has all of the tools to be an NFL receiver. At 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, he can survive chucks by NFL corners and out-jump them with his vertical. I have seen improvement in his route running this year, but all of the immeasurable tools are there. Everything else can be taught, and Mosley seems able to learn.

He will have to work on his blocking, but he's young enough to make any adjustments that scouts tell him need to be made. Mosley is skilled enough to be a first-round draft pick in 2027 if he continues to progress.

I've been gushing about Harold Fannin Jr. all season and he may not be the best all-around tight end in college. Warren has been used as a running back, quarterback, and even the center in games this season. He's a 6-foot-6, 257-pound, Swiss Army knife.

Warren could play several positions, but he'll be more of a Brock Bowers type in the NFL (which didn't really exist until this year). The team that drafts Warren will be able to use him in special packages. That's not as common in NFL circles as it is in college, but it would be a waste of this unicorn to relegate him to the traditional tight end box.

I love Fannin, but Warren will, and probably should, be the first tight end taken in rookie drafts next year.
