Emanuel Wilson fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 9 (2024). Should you start or sit Emanuel Wilson for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Sit
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB5
ANALYSIS: Green Bay Packers running back Emanuel Wilson has seen even less work as an RB in recent weeks, and we've instead seen lead back Josh Jacobs (ankle) handle even more of a workload since Week 5. Rather than a committee, this is a backfield with a workhorse RB1 and a backup that handles minimal work when the starter is healthy.

Josh Jacobs: 64%
Chris Brooks: 24%
Emanuel Wilson: 17%— Andrew Erickson™ (@AndrewErickson_) October 28, 2024
In fact, Wilson was outsnapped by third-string back Chris Brooks in Week 8, casting doubt on whether he's even viable as a handcuff. It doesn't make sense to start someone with such little work that's continuing to lose playing time to his cohorts. It's not good to see things trending in the wrong direction near the halfway point.
The most likely scenario is that he sees very little volume moving forward outside of an injury to Jacobs. With rookie MarShawn Lloyd (ankle) likely returning to the lineup at some point, Wilson's long-term prospects are bleak. He shouldn't be started, let alone rostered, because Jacobs has stated that he will be fine by game time and is thus expected to play.
