ANALYSIS: Dallas Cowboys running back Rico Dowdle was in a strict committee in the season opener and should continue to have a similar role as the season progresses which makes him an RB3 heading into Week 2.
Dowdle and Ezekiel Elliott typically alternated possessions with both logging a mere identical 30 and 27 total snaps, with Elliot having the slight lead.
Elliott carried the ball ten times and saw two targets while Dowdle received eight carries and one target in the passing game. It will be very hard for fantasy managers to predict their fantasy ceiling every week as they both will greatly hinder each other's output.

However, in Week 2 the Cowboys are six-point favorites over the New Orleans Saints which suggests they have opportunities to run out the clock late in the game which could potentially open the door for Dowdle to see an uptick in work.
Nonetheless, Dowdle is an RB3 heading into the second week with an upside for a touchdown playing on one of the best offenses in football.
