Paul Blackburn - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Welcome RotoBallers to our Two-Start Pitcher Streamers article - Waiver Wire Streamers and Starts for Week 21, from August 12 to August 18. With multiple teams having six or seven games on their schedule, we're looking at a nice variety of two-start pitchers.

Each week of this fantasy baseball season, this fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups column will identify starting pitchers expected to make two starts in the upcoming week. It can be considered as fantasy baseball streamers ahead of the Sunday night waiver wire run for leagues with weekly transactions.

There are 29 pitchers currently scheduled to make two starts during this period. We will be looking at pitchers who are less than 50% owned in Yahoo leagues. Listed will be those who are rostered over 50%, those who are best available under 50%, and risky options under 50%. There are a few other two-start pitchers available, but they should be avoided.

Two-Start Pitchers - Over 50% Rostered

Best Available Two-Start Pitcher Streamers

Paul Blackburn (19% Rostered), New York Mets

Scheduled Starts: vs. OAK, vs. MIA

Paul Blackburn has had a fantastic start to his New York Mets career, with a 1.50 ERA, 3.51 FIP, and 24% strikeout rate in two starts since being acquired from the Oakland Athletics. He'll square off against his former squad -- who rank 25th in scoring this season -- and a weak Marlins offense (29th in scoring this season).

Carson Fulmer (3% Rostered), Los Angeles Angels

Scheduled Starts: vs. TOR, vs. ATL

Carson Fulmer has performed well since joining the rotation out of the bullpen, with a 3.60 ERA, 4.17 FIP, 1.00 WHIP, and 21.8% strikeout rate through five starts. He mostly held his own against an intimidating Yankees lineup, so feel comfortable with the 30-year-old against two offenses that rank in the bottom-eight in runs scored this season.

Risky Two-Start Streamer Picks

Brayan Bello (47% Rostered), Boston Red Sox

Scheduled Starts: vs. TEX, @ BAL

A 3.73 xFIP, 22.2% strikeout rate, and 103 Stuff+ grade this year are good reasoning for taking Brayan Bello rest-of-season. However, streaming Bello's 5.16 ERA against a Baltimore offense ranked second in scoring this season is clearly risky.

Tyler Mahle (18% Rostered), Texas Rangers

Scheduled Starts: @ BOS, vs. MIN

Tyler Mahle was fantastic in his season debut, allowing one run across five innings against the Houston Astros. However, you should give him a couple starts to shake the rust off before streaming him against two offenses in the top eight of scoring ranks this season.

Cal Quantrill (10% Rostered), Colorado Rockies

Scheduled Starts: @ ARZ, vs. SD

Cal Quantrill (Colorado Rockies starting pitcher) against the Arizona Diamondbacks (league-leaders in runs scored this season). Bringing up Quantrill's 4.56 ERA, 4.90 FIP, and 17.4% strikeout rate seems cruel and unnecessary. Don't even think about it.

Trevor Rogers (6% Rostered), Baltimore Orioles

Scheduled Starts: vs. WAS, vs. BOS

While he's moved to a bonafide contender, Trevor Rogers is still not someone you can fully trust. Carrying a 4.71 ERA, 4.49 FIP, 17.4% strikeout rate, and 9.9% walk rate this season, Rogers' struggles continued in his debut with the Orioles with five runs allowed through 4 1/3 innings against a talented Cleveland squad. He'll get a Boston Red Sox offense that leads the league in scoring since the All-Star break, making him easy to avoid this week.
