Impact Fantasy Baseball Prospects Ready To Shine: Jasson Dominguez, Deyvison De Los Santos, Zebby Matthews

Jasson Dominguez - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Prospects, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

Andy analyzes three top fantasy baseball prospects - Jasson Dominguez, Deyvison De Los Santos, Zebby Matthews - who could make big impacts this season. These MLB prospects are potential waiver wire pick-ups or stashes.

It's Week 21 of the MLB season, and we have seen several top prospects come up to the major leagues and have a mixed bag of results.

Some top prospects are enjoying a successful rookie season and leading fantasy teams to the playoffs like Wyatt Langford and Paul Skenes.

In this piece, we will look at two high-upside bats and a rising starting pitcher who are performing at an elite level in the minor leagues and are making a strong case to see the final weeks of the season in the major leagues. These prospects have high potential and could be the final piece your team needs to secure a championship.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Jasson Dominguez - OF, New York Yankees

Current Level: Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre
Availability: 25% rostered
2024 AAA stats: 17 G, .294/.333/.441, 2 HRs, 8 RBI, 10 R, 4 SB

Injuries have gotten the best out of the budding superstar this summer, but the 21-year-old is finally healthy and could return to the big leagues in the coming weeks.

Dominguez underwent Tommy John surgery late last season and then was sidelined with an oblique injury for six weeks in the middle of the summer. Since returning to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, the switch-hitting center fielder has tallied at least one hit in six out of the past eight games. However, he has yet to go deep.

Before this, the top prospect in the Bronx boasted a .356/.404/.609 line with six home runs, 13 RBI, and four doubles across 23 games at Triple, Double, and Single-A.

Dominguez earned a late-season promotion to the majors last summer and showcased his five-category potential by hitting four long balls, tallying seven RBI, and swiping one bag across an eight-game stint.

The switch-hitting outfielder can be a league winner down the stretch and could provide a much-needed spark to the middle of a struggling Yankees lineup.

Deyvison De Los Santos - 1B/3B, Miami Marlins

Current Level: Triple-A Jacksonville
Availability: 7% rostered
2024 AAA stats: 59 G, .289/.349/.582, 17 HRs, 54 RBI, 41 R, 0 SB

De Los Santos has been one of the best power hitters in the minor leagues this season. He opened the season by getting his second look at Double-A and hit a .372 AVG and .696 SLG across 38 games.

Then, he moved up to Triple-A, where he continued to showcase his incredible power launching 14 home runs and holding a .553 SLG through 49 games.

The slugger was the headliner piece in the package that sent A.J. Puk to the desert at the deadline. Since joining the Marlins organization, De Los Santos has continued to produce elite power numbers.

Through his first 10 games in Jacksonville, he has held a .289/.349/.582 line with three round-trippers.

Currently considered the seventh-best prospect in the Miami pipeline on MLB.com, De Los Santos should be on his way to the big leagues very soon as the Marlins will look to give their top prospects a taste of the majors before the end of the summer.

Zebby Matthews - SP, Minnesota Twins

Level: Triple-A St. Paul
Availability: 1% rostered
2024 AAA stats : 19 IP, 4GS, 5.68 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, 1:23 BB:K

Rounding out this list is a starting pitcher from the Twins system.

Zebby Matthews opened the season by getting his second look at High-A, where he needed only four starts to tune up and prove he was ready to join Double-A.

At Double-A Wichita, the right-hander showcased his elite command with a 6:63 BB:K ratio, a stellar 1.95 ERA, and a 0.76 WHIP.

Matthews, then earned a call to Triple-A St. Paul last month but has struggled to find consistency. While his incredible command has not diminished he has allowed at least one home run in every start so far.

In two of his outings, he has allowed two or fewer runs, but in the other two, he has served up at least four.

Given how fast he has moved through the minor leagues, fantasy managers should not count out a late-season major league debut, If given the call, the 24-year-old could provide an elite WHIP ratio given his near perfect walk rate.
