Andy discusses whether top prospect Jasson Dominguez is worth stashing in redraft leagues in Week 20.
New York Yankees outfield prospect Jasson Dominguez has suffered numerous injuries over the past two seasons, which has caused him to miss out on several big league opportunities.
However, Dominguez has recently recovered from his most recent setback and has returned to Triple-A, which could suggest a return to the big leagues could be right around the corner.
Knowing when to stash an elite prospect can put you over the edge and secure you a fantasy championship. In this piece, I will discuss how high Dominguez's potential could be in 2024 and when he might get the call.
How High Is Jasson Dominguez's Fantasy Potential?
The top prospect in the Yankee system got a small taste of the big leagues last summer and posted a .258/.303/.677 line with four home runs and one stolen base across a minor eight-game stint which ended abruptly as he had to undergo Tommy John surgery.
The 21-year-old was eased into action this season and returned to the lower levels of the minors on May 14. He remained at Single-A and Double-A for a 14-game stint and immediately flashed his potential with a .333/.404/.588 line.
Then, he returned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre for nine games and held a dominant .389/.405/.639 line with two long balls and two swiped bags before suffering another injury, this time to his oblique.

However, he recently returned to Triple-A on July 26 and has tallied at least one hit in every game since and is rounding back into form.
When Might Jasson Dominguez Get A Major-League Opportunity?
Seeing that Dominguez is healthy once again is a great sign for his redraft stock. The 21-year-old switch-hitter was on the verge of getting the call earlier this season before suffering the oblique injury.

However, with the Yankees' poor offensive output, Dominguez could be on the fast track to the Bronx. Current left fielder, Alex Verdugo has recently begun to string together a few solid performances but held a disappointing .159/.216/.246 line through most of July.
In addition, Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) recently returned from the injured list on Monday but will have his playing time limited to ensure he is healthy for the playoffs.
If Verdugo continues to struggle and Stanton remains limited, Dominguez could be promoted in the coming weeks and will provide five-category fantasy production down the stretch.
