Top 25 Fantasy Baseball Prospects To Stash (Week 19): Redraft Rankings

Junior Caminero - Fantasy Baseball Prospects, Waiver Wire Pickups, Draft Sleepers

Eric Cross's top 25 fantasy baseball prospects rankings for Week 19 (2024). MLB prospects, rookies, call-ups who can be fantasy baseball sleepers in redraft leagues.

The MLB trade deadline period is always one of the most exciting times of the baseball season. We've already seen plenty of trades go down that are shifting rosters and potentially freeing up playing time for prospects, and I'm sure many more will go down on Tuesday before the 6 p.m. EDT deadline.

Today is a day that you need to keep your head on a swivel and quickly pick up any prospect whose playing time situation gets clearer following a trade. Being on your toes today could pay big dividends for the final two months of the fantasy baseball season.

Remember, stashing fantasy baseball prospects should be done strategically and varies from league to league. Don't leave your teams without much depth just because you want all the high-upside prospects on your roster.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Fantasy Baseball Prospect Rankings Analysis

Junior Caminero, Tampa Bay Rays

Alright, we're officially on Junior Caminero watch with the Tampa Bay Rays selling off MLB pieces in a hurry over the last several days. With Isaac Paredes now in Chicago, the hot corner is wide open for Caminero to step in. And no, I don't think Christopher Morel will block him as most of his playing time should come at the DH spot.

Caminero has hit a pair of doubles and home runs over his last seven games and has 13 dingers in 48 games overall this season. Included in that seven-game stretch was one game with three batted balls over 110 mph. I'd be shocked if he's not up within 24 hours of the trade deadline ending.

Jasson Dominguez, New York Yankees

After missing the first six weeks of the season and then another six weeks recently, Jasson Dominguez is back in Triple-A and has been raking all season. In 25 games, Dominguez is slashing .344/.394/.573 with four doubles, six home runs, and three steals. We saw Dominguez flex his plus power in his cup of coffee with the Yankees late last season before getting injured and is coming off back-to-back seasons in the minors with at least 15 home runs and 35 steals.

The fantasy potential is tantalizing, with top-50 upside for the remainder of the season once he's back up with the Yankees. That path to the majors is currently occupied by Alex Verdugo who is slashing .189/.252/.276 over his last 32 games.

Deyvison De Los Santos and Agustin Ramirez, Miami Marlins

Don't be surprised if the Miami Marlins' two newest hitting prospects see some time in the majors before the end of the season. Both Deyvison De Los Santos and Agustin Ramirez were blocked in Arizona and New York respectively, but now have wide-open paths to playing time in Miami. The third base spot has been occupied mostly by journeyman Jonah Bride lately and the duo of Nick Fortes and Ali Sanchez aren't going to hold back Ramirez for long. Both can also play first base as well which helps as Josh Bell is a candidate to be traded before the deadline.

With both Ramirez and De Los Santos, power is the name of the game with Ramirez cranking 20 in 87 games this season and De Los Santos leading the minors with 29 in 89 games. Be careful with De Los Santos though as his aggressive nature and inconsistent contact will likely lead to a lower average.

Jace Jung, Detroit Tigers

While Jace Jung has been limited to 81 games this season, he's hit well in those 81 games, slashing .267/.391/.500 with 21 doubles, 15 home runs, and a 16.9% walk rate. Jung has primarily been playing third base this season which is wide open in Detroit with the duo of Gio Urshela and Zach McKinstry receiving most of the starts at the hot corner lately. As a hitter who will provide minimal speed, Jung's bat will need to stand out, but the upside is a .270/25 bat long-term.

Jackson Holliday, Baltimore Orioles

Update: On Tuesday 7/30 it was announced that Jackson Holliday has been recalled by the Orioles.

Unfortunately, barring an injury, I'm really starting to doubt that Jackson Holliday will make a fantasy impact this season. With Connor Norby currently up, Jordan Westburg on the MLB roster, and Coby Mayo likely ahead of him in the pecking order, I just don't see a path to fantasy value for Holliday this season. Even if Norby is sent back down soon, I'd imagine Mayo gets the first crack with Westburg sliding to second base.

Jackson Jobe, Detroit Tigers

Many have been asking why I haven't ranked Jackson Jobe highly in these stash rankings. In general, Jobe is my top pitching prospect and one I'm extremely high on long-term. However, I simply don't believe he pitches many innings at the major league level this season, and maybe none at all. The Tigers have zero reason to push their prized pitching prospect to the majors this season and recent reports indicate that Jobe's MLB debut is not imminent and that he will not be skipping Triple-A.
