Should I Pickup New England TE Hunter Henry For Fantasy Football? Read the fantasy football outlook.
Millions of fantasy footballers and Taylor Swift fans are going to be disappointed this week.
That is because Kansas City’s Travis Kelce, the hands-down best tight end in fantasy football, is on bye. He will be racking up frequent-flyer miles with T-Sizzle instead of racking up receptions for his fantasy managers. Replacing him is an unenviable task, but there are plenty of available options on the fantasy waiver wire. One that comes to mind is New England’s Hunter Henry, a veteran fantasy force in the midst of a down year who might be on the verge of an upturn.
Are you one of the fantasy managers with a gaping void at the tight end position in your fantasy lineup because Kelce is off? Should you pick up Henry for Week 10 and plug him into Kelce’s spot? And which vacation hotspot will Kelce and Swift visit during his mini-vacay from football? I cannot answer questions 1 and 3, but here is an answer to No. 2.

Should I Pickup Hunter Henry For Week 10?
Yes! Yes! A thousand times, yes! I know Henry went through a six-game slump where he only mustered up 12 catches for 130 yards and zero touchdowns. He has more zero-catch games on the season than 60-yard games. Plus Mac Jones and the inept New England offense has done Henry no fantasy favors for most of the 2023 campaign.
All that said, Henry’s fantasy value is on the upswing. Part of the reason is that the Patriots’ top two receivers, Kendrick Bourne and DeVante Parker, are out with injuries. Bourne is done for the season with a torn ACL. Parker has missed the last two games with a concussion and may or may not suit up on Sunday morning when the Pats play the Indianapolis Colts in Germany.
Henry has now become Jones’ de facto top target with Bourne and Parker on the shelf. He had four catches for 39 yards and a TD last week and should continue to be aimed at more than any other Patriots pass catcher since their receiving corps is one of the worst in the NFL, especially without Bourne and possibly Parker. Henry should be targeted 6-to-10 times this weekend.
Another reason to pick up and play Henry is the defense he is facing. Indianapolis is 23rd against the pass and has allowed 37, 38 and 39 points in three of its past four games. And the Colts are not allowing these big numbers against high-powered offenses. The Cleveland Browns and New Orleans Saints have struggled mightily to score points at times this season, but not against Indy.
Henry is one of the best tight ends on your league’s waiver wire right now, if not the best. If you need a TE because you have Kelce or Philadelphia’s Dallas Goedert (also on bye AND injured), pick him up and plug him in. He has a nose for the end zone (35 touchdowns in 98 career contests) and should be peppered with passes this Sunday morn. For a one-week stopgap at tight end, it will be hard to do better than him.
