The New Orleans Saints' offense boasts high-profile names like Alvin Kamara, Chris Olave, Michael Thomas, and Derek Carr. Kamara has been great but the other star of the show hasn't been the receivers or Carr. Rather, a 33-year-old hybrid QB/TE/RB (whatever you want to call him) named Taysom Hill is dominating fantasy football.

Over the last three weeks, Hill has been the TE2 and it's being accomplished in a plethora of ways. In one game, he's seeing eight targets. The next, The Human Swiss Army Knife is working in the rushing and receiving game. Then, he's doing it all, including throwing 40+ yard passes.

But we've seen this game before from Hill, who can then take a backseat. Often, there's no rhyme or reason as to when the disappearing act comes.

What Did Taysom Hill Accomplish In Week 8?

Hill did it all on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. His nine carries tied for a season-high mark. He caught one pass for 14 yards (which is admittedly a low total based on recent weeks). More importantly for fantasy football, Hill scored two touchdowns.

To top it all off, Hill completed a 44-yard pass to Rashid Shaheed in the second half. Even with production in all three facets of the offensive game, Hill was actually on the field for less than half of the snaps on Sunday. That's down from 60 and 58 percent in the two weeks prior.

Should I Pick Up Taysom Hill?

The numbers don't lie but the tight end landscape hasn't been this robust in several seasons. Outside of the regular stars (Travis Kelce, Mark Andrews, T.J. Hockenson), several late-round or undrafted players have burst onto the scene. Lions' rookie Sam LaPorta has been a revelation. Fellow rookie Dalton Kincaid is now a solo act in Buffalo due to the wrist injury to Dawson Knox. Jake Ferguson is heavily involved in the Dallas offense. David Njoku and Cole Kmet are coming off of big games.

That doesn't include this week's waiver wire options, Hill and Trey McBride, nor other reliable players like Evan Engram, George Kittle, and Dallas Goedert. That's 13 tight ends that fantasy managers can be excited about starting. Darren Waller (hamstring) would make 14 if he's healthy.

Managers may be searching for a replacement for the injured Waller or players like LaPorta and Kittle, who will be on bye. Hill is a great candidate for that role if he's available on the waiver wire. The odds for a boom game are there in a number of different ways. But be warned, there's also the chance that he picks up a couple of carries in a set of special packages and doesn't do much of anything in the passing game.
