NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 3/17/23

Keeping track of the latest team news and updates leading to the games is essential.

Vegas Odds for the Day

NHL DFS Goalies

Freddie Andersen- DK $7.9K | FD $7.8K

Opponent - Toronto Maple Leafs

Should Andersen start Friday against Toronto, he will have a tough task on his hands. However, Andersen's former team only scored one goal in their last game. The Danish netminder has won six of his last 10 starts, carrying a 2.29 goals-against-average and a .903 save percentage. Despite possibly going up against an offensively gifted Toronto team, Carolina doesn't give up a lot of goals, allowing an average of just 2.52 Goals Against Per 60.

Others To Consider: Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (DK $8.4K | FD $8.3K), Darcy Kuemper (DK $8.2K | FD $8.2K)

NHL DFS Centers

Pavel Buchnevich-DK $6.2K | FD $7.7K

Opponent - Washington Capitals

Pavel Buchnevich will have a great opportunity to demonstrate his recent offensive surge against the Washington Capitals. The centerman has been on an incredible streak, recording seven goals and 11 assists in his last 10 games. He scored three goals against Minnesota on Wednesday. With the Capitals giving up 17 goals in their last five games, Buchnevich has an excellent chance to continue putting up points.

Tage Thompson -DK $8.5K | FD $9.9K

Opponent - Philadelphia Flyers

Buffalo is gearing up to take on Philadelphia, and 25-year-old center Tage Thompson remains an excellent choice for the position. Although he hasn't scored in the last six games, he has been valuable as a playmaker, providing five assists. Additionally, he has fired 12 shots on goal during the previous two games, indicating that he's poised to score again soon.

Others To Consider: Auston Matthews (DK $10.4K | FD $10.1K), Sebastian Aho (DK $7.3K| FD $7.0K)

NHL DFS Wings

Alex Tuch -DK $7.2K | FD $7.8K

Opponent - Philadelphia Flyers

Alex Tuch has been performing exceptionally well in the last three games, scoring three goals and taking 13 shots. He has accumulated a total of nine points in the last seven games. Tuch should take full advantage against the Flyers, who have conceded 16 goals in their previous four games.

Mitch Marner -DK $7.3K| FD 8.1K

Opponent - Carolina Hurricanes

Looking ahead to Toronto's game against Carolina on Friday, Mitch Marner is an excellent pick for those seeking a winger option. He provides a less expensive alternative for players on FanDuel and DraftKings compared to other top wingers like his teammate William Nylander and Alex Ovechkin. Additionally, Marner has been excellent, logging four goals and 16 assists in the last 10 games. He's currently ranked fourth in the league with 62 assists, and even against a strong Carolina team, Marner will make an impact in Friday's game.

Others To Consider: Alex Ovechkin (DK $8.1K | FD $8.6K), William Nylander (DK $7.4K| FD $8.7K)

NHL DFS Defensemen

Cam Fowler- DK $4.9 | FD $5.4K

Opponent - Columbus Blue Jackets

Cam Fowler presents an affordable defensive option against Columbus on Friday. He has been in solid form recently, with 11 assists and 11 shots on goal in the last 10 games. Considering the Blue Jackets have a tendency to concede a large number of shots, with an average of 35.08 Shots Against Per 60, Fowler could potentially seize on the opportunity, particularly as he plays on the point for the Ducks' top power play unit.

Torey Krug- DK 4.8K | FD $5.9K

Opponent - Washington Capitals

You might want to consider adding Torey Krug from the St. Louis Blues to your Friday lineup as a defenseman. He's a low-cost option with promising potential. Krug delivered an impressive outing in his last game, recording three assists against Minnesota on Wednesday. Although he only has one goal and four assists in the last 10 games, Krug has fired 16 shots on goal and blocked 12 shots. Similar to Fowler, Krug also plays on his team's first power play unit. With his aggressive shooting approach in recent games, Krug could take advantage of Washington's high Shots Against Per 60 average, which is 30.36.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Rasmus Dahlin (DK $6.8K | FD $5.9K), Brent Burns (DK $6.3K | FD $7.1K)

Stacks of the Day

  • TOR Stack: Nylander-Matthews-Marner
  • BUF Stack: Skinner-Thompson-Tuch
  • STL Stack: Kyrou-Buchnevich-Krug

That's all for today, good luck with your lineups, and thank you for choosing RotoBaller for your NHL DFS needs!
