DraftKings College Basketball DFS Lineup Picks for 1/31/23 - CBB Daily Fantasy Advice

Oscar Tshiebwe daily college fantasy basketball CFB DFS picks March Madness

Today's DraftKings college basketball DFS lineup picks for 1/31/23. Mike Marteny's CBB daily fantasy advice and lineup sleepers to help you win on DraftKings.

We have another dozen games on our DraftKings slate tonight. We don't have an early bird tonight. All of the early tips are at 7 pm. We have A&M heading to Fayetteville. Nebraska heads to Champaign to take on the Illini. Clemson climbs Chestnut Hill to take on Boston College. Wake tries to survive the craziness in Cameron. Virginia Tech gets a little bit of warmth in Miami. UConn heads to Chicago to take on DePaul. We close out the early tips with round two of the Sunflower Showdown, but this time it's in Lawrence.

A half-hour later, we have Alabama back at home taking on Vandy. We close this out with four 9 pm games. Kentucky heads to Oxford to take on Ole Miss. Indiana heads to Maryland to take on the Terrapins. Northwestern heads over to Iowa City. West Virginia heads to Fort Worth to take on TCU as they try to parlay the big Auburn win. This is going to be fun!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/31/23, starting at 7 pm Eastern. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CBB DFS Guards

Jahmir Young, Maryland ($9,400)

Young has at least 30 DraftKings points in six straight games, including the game against number 1 Purdue in which he made just 4-of-18 shot attempts. His peripheral numbers have been outstanding lately and he is scoring in double figures every game. I trust what I've seen from Young lately. The fact that he does enough to retain value even when his shot doesn't fall makes him an attractive DFS option in any format.

Terrence Shannon, Illinois ($8,000)

We need to send a big thank you to Wisconsin for holding Shannon to his worst game of the season before his rematch against the team in which he dropped his best game. We get Shannon at a bit of a discount since he had as many turnovers as points (six) on Saturday against the Badgers. The first time that Illinois played the Huskers in Lincoln, Shannon went nuclear on them. He racked up 55.25 DraftKings points, posting his only double-double of the season. It would be unreasonable to expect the same output, but he could at least flirt with 40 at a reasonable price.

Brooks Barnhizer, Northwestern ($5,300)

One game is a fluke. Two games are a coincidence. Four straight games of at least 24 minutes played is a trend. Barnhizer played a season-high 31 minutes against the Gophers on Saturday, but it is worth noting that the Wildcats won the game by 20. Still, the fact that Northwestern was still going with the youngster despite a sloppy game against Nebraska is a good sign. His price is starting to rise to the point where we have to think a little more about using him, but you don't find a lot of guys that play 30 minutes in this price range.

Shahada Wells, TCU ($4,100)

Wells played huge minutes after Mike Miles departed early in the game in the loss to Mississippi State. With Miles out for the immediate future, it opens up a lot of minutes for Wells. He put up 25 DraftKings points in 39 minutes against the Bulldogs and was one of the few bright spots in StarkVegas for the Toadies. I expect Wells to be highly owned, but we'll get different elsewhere. We need this kind of value tonight.

Also consider: Tyree Appleby, Wake Forest ($8,700); Umoja Gibson, DePaul ($8,300); Boo Buie, Northwestern ($7,800); Cameron Hildreth, Wake Forest ($7,400); Sam Griesel, Nebraska ($7,100); Erik Stevenson, West Virginia ($6,900); Tyrin Lawrence, Vanderbilt ($5,900); MJ Collins, Virginia Tech ($4,300); Rylan Griffen, Alabama ($3,900); Sam Hoiberg, Nebraska ($3,300)

DraftKings CBB DFS Forwards

Jalen Wilson, Kansas ($9,500)

There are a lot of good forwards, many with high ceilings, on the slate tonight. We know what TJD and Tshiebwe have done over the last couple of weeks, but their prices are inflated to the point where a game in the 30s from them is going to be a disappointment. Wilson was once again lights-out on Saturday. He has scored at least 22 points in four straight games. The first game of that streak was against K-State in Manhattan in which Wilson torched the Wildcats for 54.75 DraftKings points with 38 actual points. They literally could not stop him. Don't be shocked if that's the case again.

Keyontae Johnson, Kansas State ($8,500)

The Florida transfer was huge for the Wildcats in the win over Kansas a couple of weeks ago. He has at least 30 DraftKings points in five straight and seven of the last eight with the biggest game coming against the Jayhawks. Johnson has kept up his good scoring and has now snatched double-digit rebounds in three straight games. He is peaking at the right time for the Wildcats.

Myles Stute, Vanderbilt ($5,600)

For the first couple of games with Liam Robbins out, it was Lawrence who carried much of the vacated load. Stute has carried more of that load over the last couple of games. Stute had a big game in the loss to A&M over the weekend and did so against Georgia and Arkansas since the loss of Robbins. The issue is that Stute underperformed in the first meeting with the Tide, only hitting one of his six shot attempts and racking up three fouls. I have seen more good than bad from Stute of late. If he can pick up another 33 minutes against the Tide, he should clear 20 for us again.

Malik Reneau, Indiana ($4,700)

Considering that Jordan Geronimo was spotted in a boot on Saturday, I would consider him doubtful to play in this one. Some reports have suggested that Geronimo could be out for an extended period. That means we have some value on Reneau right now. He played quite a few minutes anyway, but with Geronimo out on Sunday, Reneau racked up 31.5 DraftKings points against Ohio State. It's only one game, but that's good enough for a GPP dart if Geronimo is still out.

Also consider: Brandon Miller, Alabama ($9,300); Grant Basile, Virginia Tech ($8,600); PJ Hall, Clemson ($8,400); Quinten Post, Boston College ($7,700); Jacob Toppin, Kentucky ($7,500); Dereck Lively, Duke ($5,600); Jakobe Coles, TCU ($5,000); Makhel Mitchell, Arkansas ($4,000)
