Talks Expected To Pick Up Between Mets, Carlos Correa
Carlos Correa, and there is still a belief that there's a good chance he ends up with the Mets despite the team's concerns over his surgically repaired ankle. San Francisco Giants president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi told reporters last Friday that the Giants were among teams to follow up with Correa's camp. Correa and the Giants agreed to a 13-year, $350 million deal before the Giants called it off due to medical concerns. Then the Mets agreed to a 12-year, $315 million deal with Correa before having their own concerns over an injury that stemmed from Correa having arthroscopic surgery in 2014 to fix a fractured fibula and minor ligament damage. The 28-year-old has missed 42 games in the last three years, but for nothing related to his ankle injury.
