Russell Wilson Injury Update

Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson (hamstring) will start Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He participated fully in Friday's practice and will start the London game. "Barring any setbacks, we're hoping to see Russell out there," said Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett.

The veteran quarterback missed Week 7 against the New York Jets due to a hamstring injury. The 33-year-old has struggled this season, throwing 1,442 yards and a 5:3 TD: INT ratio over six games in 2022. Wilson is a borderline QB2 and is mainly an option in superflex leagues for Week 8.

Ja'Marr Chase Injury Update

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase (hip) is dealing with a hip injury that is expected to keep him out for four to six weeks. It makes him a prime candidate for Injured Reserve, according to sources. Chase visited with a hip specialist on Wednesday and is seeking more answers about his injury.

It's a tough break for the Bengals and fantasy managers alike, especially since Cincy's offense seemed to have hit their stride in recent weeks. Chase needs to be stashed in all fantasy formats, and receivers Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd and tight end Hayden Hurst will all have higher fantasy ceilings with Chase unable to play. Mike Thomas will also step into a bigger role on offense as the No. 3 wideout.

DK Metcalf Injury Update

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf (knee) missed his second straight practice this week on Thursday. Metcalf has yet to practice after suffering a patellar tendon injury in the Week 7 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, and he's extremely questionable to play in Week 8 against the New York Giants.

Fantasy managers need to formulate a backup plan in case the 24-year-old isn't able to suit up on Sunday. If Metcalf is sidelined, Tyler Lockett and Marquise Goodwin, who had two touchdowns last week, would see an uptick in targets, as would tight end Noah Fant. Lockett is also on the injury report with a hamstring ailment, but he practiced in full on Thursday and should be ready to go this weekend.

D'Andre Swift Injury Update

Detroit Lions running back D'Andre Swift (ankle, shoulder) had his second straight day of full practice on Thursday. Swift has been sidelined since Week 3, but two straight days of practice so far this week bode well for his chances of returning to action in Week 8 against the Miami Dolphins.

It remains to be seen how many offensive snaps the 23-year-old will be on the field for after a long layoff, but Swift should at least share the backfield touches with Jamaal Williams like he was doing in the three games to start the year before his injuries. Swift is averaging a healthy 8.6 yards per carry on 27 carries in 2022, but he'll be a low-end RB2 in danger of losing valuable touches to Williams if he returns against Miami.

James Conner Injury Update

Arizona Cardinals running backs James Conner (ribs) and Darrel Williams (knee) were both limited in practice for the second straight day on Thursday. Conner and Williams have both missed the last two games, but they could be trending towards returning this Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, which would push Eno Benjamin back to a depth role in Arizona.

With both Conner and Williams out the last two weeks, Benjamin has received 27 carries for 129 yards and a touchdown while catching seven of his eight targets for 49 yards. If both Conner and Williams return against Minnesota, the Cardinals could have a three-way committee approach, making it hard to trust anyone in this backfield for fantasy purposes.

Allen Lazard Injury Update

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard (shoulder) does not expect to play on Sunday night against the Buffalo Bills. "Probably not," Lazard said. He heard a "snap, crackle, pop" in his shoulder in the third quarter of the Week 7 loss to the Washington Commanders, but he isn't worried about being sidelined long-term.

Lazard hasn't been able to practice since suffering the injury on Sunday, and there's a real possibility that he'll miss Week 9 against the Detroit Lions as well. With Randall Cobb (ankle) on Injured Reserve and rookie Christian Watson (hamstring) questionable to play this weekend, the Packers may have to get by with Sammy Watkins, rookies Romeo Doubs and Samori Toure and Amari Rodgers as their four receivers against Buffalo.

Darren Waller Injury Update

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller (hamstring) remained limited for Thursday's practice session. This is now back-to-back days that Waller has been limited in practice. The good news is, Waller is getting on the field, which means he might actually be able to play for the first time since Week 5.

This won't be a great matchup for Waller against a New Orleans Saints defense that defends well against the tight end. He should be considered a low-end TE1, assuming he's able to play. Fantasy managers should check back and see how Friday's practice goes for Waller.
