DraftKings CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Week 8 Daily College Fantasy Football - Saturday Main Slate (10/22/22)

Bijan Robinson - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Rookies, Draft Sleepers

We have another 13 games on the main slate this week and we have some really good ones going on. The noon kickoffs are few, but they are mighty. We have Kansas heading to Waco to once again try to become bowl eligible. Syracuse heads to Clemson in a battle for ACC supremacy. SMU hosts Cincinnati for one last AAC tilt. Ohio State welcomes in Iowa to see if they can light up this stout defense.

The afternoon begins with UNLV heading to South Bend since the Catholics are only allowed to go to Vegas once every few years. West Virginia heads down to Lubbock. Then the afternoon really gets going with Mississippi State back in Death Valley. UCLA heads up I-5 to Eugene. Texas travels up to Stillwater to try and throw another wrench in the Big 12(10) chase. Boston College heads to Winston-Salem. Purdue is in Madison, and we have more AAC flavor with Memphis heading to Tulane. We top this off with Stanford hosting Arizona State. This is going to be a fun one!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 10/22/22 locking at noon eastern. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks

Bo Nix, Oregon ($9,300)

Nix has at least 35 DraftKings points against every FBS team not named Georgia this year. He has been efficient through the air and very good on the ground. UCLA has made most of their noise with the offense. That likely continues against the Ducks. If Oregon is going to win this early Pac 12 showdown, they are going to need a big game from Nix. He has accounted for 20 touchdowns (12 passing, eight rushing) already this year. That makes Nix worth paying up for.

Jason Bean, Kansas ($7,300)

Bean put up 28.7 DraftKings points last week and his price dropped $200. Baylor's defense will provide a little more resistance, but West Virginia was able to throw (and run with the quarterback) on them last week. Bean still feels cheap and is my top target in the middle tier. He isn't quite the player that Jalon Daniels is, but he's arguably the best backup in college right now since most of the others that were familiar with a system transferred to get more playing time.

Quinn Ewers, Texas ($6,400)

The Oklahoma State defense has proven to be vulnerable on the back end. Ewers has seven passing touchdowns in the two games since his return from a collarbone injury he suffered in the Alabama game. He hasn't had a huge yardage game yet, but that could come here in a game in Stillwater that should remain close. The Oklahoma State line is a strength, so that may force more of the Texas action through the air. We could see the best game of Ewers' young career here.

Drew Pyne, Notre Dame ($5,000)

Pyne has been nothing but solid since taking over the starting job with Tyler Buchner sidelined. He finally has a chance to be more than that here. UNLV has by far the worst defense that the Irish have faced this season. Their schedule isn't like everyone else's. Their early season matchups are often tougher. Pyne has a pretty high ceiling in this game. His first 300-yard passing game is likely along with a successful day on the ground.

Also consider: Dorian Thompson-Robinson, UCLA ($7,900); Spencer Sanders, Oklahoma State ($7,800); Jaxson Dart, Mississippi ($6,700); Michael Pratt, Tulane ($6,300); Aidan O'Connell, Purdue ($6,000); Graham Mertz, Wisconsin ($5,200)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs

Bijan Robinson, Texas ($9,400)

The Cowboys gave up 224 rushing yards to TCU last week and Robinson hasn't been under triple digits since the Alabama game. We even saw Robinson more active in the passing game last week! It's going to take a lot for Texas to win in Stillwater, but they have the talent to do it. Much of it will ride on Robinson's ability to run on the Cowboys vaunted D-line. Since TCU was able to do it, I like Robinson's chances, potentially at lower ownership.

Quinshon Judkins, Mississippi ($6,700)

Judson has scored ten touchdowns in the last five games. He still splits time in the Ole Miss backfield, but he seems to be the better runner. The LSU defense still got gashed on the ground last week. Tennessee and Florida ran for a combined 473 yards on the Tigers, so I think Ole Miss gets to LSU on the ground as well. Given Judkins has a penchant for scoring touchdowns and racking up triple-digit yardage, he has a nice ceiling here despite splitting time.

Charles McClelland, Cincinnati ($6,100)

The best defense against a high-powered offense is to keep it off the field. With Ben Bryant likely out again for the Bearcats, they should lean on McClelland just like they did against South Florida. SMU's rush defense stats are skewed a bit since Navy ran for 372 (on 77 carries!) on them last week, but they still allowed over 200 on the ground to both North Texas and Maryland. Neither are prolific running teams. We might see Corey Kiner steal some carries too, but I expect Cincinnati to lean on the run game enough to support both backs at their prices.

SaRodorick Thompson, Texas Tech ($4,700)

Thompson carried 20 times against Oklahoma State before the bye, so it's possible that he has the starting running back role back for Tech. Of course, this entire offense is in flux with the coaching staff saying that all four quarterbacks will take snaps in this game. Thompson is the most accomplished of the backs though, so that can only help his case to remain on the field. He's GPP-only for me, but I really like the upside.

Also consider: Braelon Allen, Wisconsin ($7,400); Zach Charbonnet, UCLA ($6,700); Xazavian Valladay, Arizona State ($6,600); Devin Mockobee, Purdue ($5,800); Audric Estime, Notre Dame ($5,400); CJ Donaldson, West Virginia ($5,100); Noah Whittington, Oregon ($4,000); Josh Williams, LSU ($3,000)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers

Charlie Jones, Purdue ($7,800)

You see me talk about volume in these articles all of the time. That's why Jones is on here. He has 62 receptions, good for second in the country, despite struggling against Maryland with a backup quarterback starting for the Boilermakers. O'Connell was back last week, and Jones caught 12 passes. He isn't as explosive as the receivers who get all the attention, but Jones will rack up the points on receptions alone.

Oronde Gadsden II, Syracuse ($6,300)

Gadsden might be the best receiver that Clemson has faced since they were nearly dethroned by Wake and A.T. Perry. If you have watched any Syracuse games this year, you know that Gadsden is a favorite of Garrett Shrader. He has more than 100 receiving yards in his last three games against FBS opponents with four touchdown receptions. He won't have a ceiling game against Clemson, but he can find a few holes in this secondary.

Xavier Worthy, Texas ($6,100)

The Oklahoma State secondary has been abused lately and Worthy will be the next one to take advantage. This is one of the few spots where I like Worthy a little more than Ja'Tavion Sanders. Worthy has been heavily targeted with Ewers as the quarterback. Hudson Card still looked his way, but in Worthy's two close games with Ewers, Worthy has 13 receptions for 169 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Gavin Holmes, Baylor ($4,900)

It has been a game of Whack-A-Mole for DFS players with Baylor receivers of late. That said, Holmes has been the most consistent of the receivers when he doesn't have the huge game. If you're taking a shot with a Baylor receiver, Holmes is the least likely to hurt you, especially when you take his price into consideration. His 210 yards against West Virginia last week was the breakout. What can he do for the encore?

Also consider: Rashee Rice, SMU ($7,900); Marvin Harrison Jr., Ohio State ($7,600); Jake Bobo, UCLA ($6,800); Zay Flowers, Boston College ($5,900); Kaden Prather, West Virginia ($5,800); Kayshon Boutte, LSU ($5,300); Payne Durham, Purdue ($4,900); Xavier White, Texas Tech ($4,400)

College Football DFS Game Stack Options

You know which team stacks are often good, but this isn't baseball. Game stacks can and do work. Just look at Alabama-Tennessee last week. That game made several DFS players a few thousand bucks. Who can do that this week? Let's check it out!

UCLA at Oregon

This over/under is one of the best we've had for DFS purposes so far this year, sitting at 72.5. Both quarterbacks are necessary if you're game-stacking this. They are the hearts of both offenses. Charbonnet is the better back. Among Oregon's stable, I'm taking Whittington for the good volume at key times and the massive price cut over Bucky Irving. Troy Franklin's lackluster game against Arizona has me not wanting to pay up for him. Jake Bobo is the better pay-up option. Chase Cota has been the most reliable Oregon receiver. Michael Ezeike is my favorite WR punt.

Kansas at Baylor

West Virginia-Texas Tech is a good option too, but you can't use a Tech quarterback. In this one, you can use both starters whether Blake Shapen is healthy or not. Both Richard Reese and Devin Neal have nice upside in this one. Receiver is where it gets really interesting. Lawrence Arnold seems to be the most reliable Kansas receiver. Mason Fairchild has been huge with Jason Bean starting. For Baylor, Holmes is still my favorite with Monaray Baldwin teh home-run threat.

Honorable Mention: Mississippi at LSU, Texas at Oklahoma State
