Logan Gilbert Looks Great In First Spring Start
Logan Gilbert struck out six hitters in three innings against the Cleveland Guardians on Thursday in his first Cactus League start. He gave up a solo home run in his first inning. The right-hander was touching 91 mph with his slider, and he looks ready to push for All-Star status in 2022. Only one of his six strikeouts on the day came on his fastball. If Gilbert can display a solid three-pitch mix this year, he could be very effective for the Mariners and fantasy managers. Although the 24-year-old had a 4.68 ERA last year, he coupled it with a solid 1.17 WHIP and 128 K's in 119 1/3 innings over 24 starts in Seattle.
