Washington Capitals left wing Alex Ovechkin might still have a lot of work to do to catch Wayne Gretzky on the NHL's all-time goals list, but he has now at least tied The Great One for the most 40-goal seasons in league history. Ovechkin reached his 12th 40-goal campaign with a power-play tally in Sunday's 3-2 loss to Dallas. Washington's captain needs nine more goals to break Teemu Selanne's record for most goals in a season at 36 or older. The Capitals have 18 games to go, so Ovechkin finds himself with plenty of time to get the record. He's scored in four consecutive outings and sits on 76 points through 62 games.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
