RSM Classic PGA Power Rankings: Top 10 Golfers To Watch This Week

TourPicks ranks his top-10 players to watch for at the 2025 RSM Classic at Sea Island Golf Club. Insights on the top-10 golfers for the week and reasons why they are primed and ready to win.

We've made it to the grand finale of the PGA TOUR Fall Swing, a two-course composite setup taking place at Sea Island Golf Club for the 2025 RSM Classic. Players will compete on the Seaside and Plantation courses over the first two days of competition, and the players who make the cut will all play the Seaside on the weekend. There's a ton at stake for numerous players who are looking to lock up exempt status for the 2026 season or looking to qualify for the first two signature events.

As always, my primary goal with this article is to provide you with a starting point for your research and preparation for the upcoming week. I have carefully evaluated the field-to-project proper course fits and examined closely how players' incoming form has been in the categories that matter most here. Without further ado, here are my top 10 Power Rankings for the 2025 RSM Classic in St. Simons Island, Georgia, this week.

No. 10 - Pierceson Coody

  • Plenty of positive reps this Fall for Coody, who arrives at a course that is the best fit for his game that we have seen. He should be able to leverage his distance and crush the Par 5's.
  • Coody ranks 2nd in the field in SG: OTT over the last 36 rounds played. If the wind stays down, he can let his Driver do a lot of the heavy lifting and separate from the field.
  • He continues to make birdies at a high rate, and with the average. winning score being -21 under par over the last five seasons, Coody can keep the gas pedal down in Georgia.

No. 9 - Chris Kirk

  • Local ties to the area and familiarity with Sea Island Golf Club are two of the biggest advantages for Kirk this week, who has a home game in St. Simons Island.
  • Kirk is erratic with his iron play, so it's hard to know what to expect after such a long layoff, but I'm confident that his short game can mask any deficiencies.
  • He ended last season on a high note, finishing Top 15 in his last three tournaments played. He ended his season with a T9 at the FedEx St. Jude with a hot putter.

No. 8 - Vince Whaley

  • Racking up high-end results one after another. Whaley did it again in Bermuda, finishing in a tie for 3rd. His form this Fall has been exceptional.
  • Statistically, one of the best putters in the field, which allows him to excel in birdie fests tournaments where players have an abundance of changes inside of 20 ft. to cash in.
  • T13 at this event in 2023 and T8 last year. Whaley is a great look in matchups and exterior markets given his combination of course history and current form.

No. 7 - Thorbjorn Oleson

  • The Oleson World Tour of 2025 continues on, with another positive result in Bermuda. You have to wonder how much gas is left in the tank, but you cannot deny that he's in very good control of his swing and supremely confident.
  • Reliable iron player who tops the field in Greens in Regulation rate. Oleson is comfortable playing in coastal winds.
  • Oleson has finished inside the Top 30 in his last four events during the Fall Swing, coupled with awesome results on the DP World Tour in between. Will he close this stretch out with a big win at the RSM Classic?

No. 6. Si Woo Kim

  • When he is dialed in, nobody can attack pins in tough conditions quite like Si Woo Kim. The shorter courses are ideal for his skill set and ability to stay aggressive.
  • Kim is highly accurate off the tee and one of the best players in terms of Approach stats in the field. He ranks 6th best in both SG: Ballstriking and SG: Approach over the past 36 rounds.
  • He's got fantastic hands and creativity around the greens when chipping. The problem in most cases for Kim rests on his ability to make putts. If that flat stick gets hot, watch out!

No. 5 - Denny McCarthy

  • McCarthy is the most accomplished PGA TOUR player on the roster without a win his career, with a great chance to check the box this week on a course where he has played very well at in his career.
  • Easily one of the best and most consistent putters on the PGA TOUR, McCarthy has the ability to go nuclear on the greens and gain 10 strokes putting in any given tournament.
  • Struggles off the tee in 2025 made it difficult to produce any sort of consistency. He may have been dealing with nagging injuries, and some time off will hopefully do the driver good. If he can hit greens in regulation, he CAN win. One time Denny!

No. 4 - Michael Thorbjornsen

  • Thorbjornsen is a force to be reckoned with off the tee box. The Driver is an absolute weapon, and this feels like a tournament he can capitalize on, much like we saw Ludvig Aberg do a few seasons ago.
  • T8 finish at this event last year should give him plenty of confidence, given that he arrives at St. Simons Island in much better current form this time around.
  • It's not just the Driver that has been working, Thorbjornsen is 2nd best in the entire field in greens in regulation over the past 36 rounds played. Once he puts it all together, the win will follow suit.

No. 3 - Brian Harman

  • Another Sea Island GC member makes this list with Brian Harman, who is an ideal course fit and recently finished T2 at this tournament back in 2022.
  • Strong approach numbers helped him end his TOUR Championship run in positive form, and it is a great sign is he can continue to build on that asset for next season.
  • Harman has high-end upside and familiarity with the adrenaline of winning on Sundays. He is unphasable and a strong player in all categories that are needed at Sea Island.

No. 2 - Rico Hoey

  • The favorite to win last week in Bermuda, you may be able to get Hoey a bit under the radar this week in St. Simons Island on a terrific course for his ballstriking prowess.
  • He's been on the precipice of victory all Fall and tops the field in both Ballstriking and recent Approach play.
  • The only downside is no course history and the putter, but if Adam Svensson can win this event, so can Rico! Let's ride!

No. 1 - Harris English

  • The most accomplished and best player in the field also comes with close ties to the region and Sea Island Golf Club. The Ryder Cupper arrives with tons of great momentum.
  • If Denny McCarthy is the best putter in the field, then Harris English is right behind him. Runner-up in the final major championship of last season, English is poised to get his trophy.
  • The iron play has been spotty, but ultimately I trust his ability to hit fairways and make pressure putts when it matters most.

Enjoy the RSM Classic and thanks for reading! Good luck, RotoBaller family!
