Week 6 Fantasy Football FLEX Rankings Outlooks

Rhamondre Stevenson, New England Patriots

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson is poised for an increased workload moving forward. Through five games, Stevenson has totaled 293 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns on 51 carries, leading all New England running backs in usage. With Antonio Gibson (knee) suffering a season-ending injury, both Stevenson and rookie TreVeyon Henderson are expected to see expanded roles. While Stevenson has battled ball-security issues over the past two seasons, he remains the favorite for early-down and goal-line work.

Henderson, meanwhile, should see his role grow in the passing game, giving him PPR appeal in deeper formats. Both backs carry fantasy value moving forward, and each should be rostered in all leagues as the Patriots' backfield reshapes for the rest of the season.

Terry McLaurin, Washington Commanders

Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin (quad/hip) appears unlikely to suit up in Week 6 against the Chicago Bears. The veteran wideout has missed the past two games with a lingering quad injury and did not practice on Wednesday, putting his status in serious doubt. McLaurin signed a new contract before the season but has struggled to find his rhythm, a trend that has been common among receivers coming off holdouts or limited offseason participation.

Through three games, he's caught 10 of 17 targets for 149 yards and has yet to score a touchdown. In McLaurin's absence, free-agent addition Deebo Samuel Sr. has emerged as the Commanders' top receiving option. Fantasy managers should monitor practice reports on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday to determine if McLaurin has any chance to return this week.

Rico Dowdle, Carolina Panthers

Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Brad Idzik alluded to more of a platoon at running back after Rico Dowdle's 200-yard explosion in Week 5 against Miami, according to David Newton of ESPN. The OC said Dowdle having so much success is a "good problem to have" when Hubbard (calf) returns from injury. Hubbard, who didn't practice Wednesday, had been the clear top option for the Panthers, playing in 50-plus percent of the team's offensive snaps every week he appeared.

But after Dowdle went for 206 rushing yards, a touchdown, and three catches for another 28 yards, the team obviously liked what it saw. Managers should prepare for the possibility that both backs will play going forward for Carolina.

Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints

New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson (ankle) was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, according to Mike Triplett of New Orleans Football. Johnson was questionable headed into Week 5 against the Giants, but was ultimately able to suit up and played 85% of the snaps.

The returns of tight ends Taysom Hill and Foster Moreau could limit future opportunities for Johnson, but he is still the best pass catcher of the three and one of the Saints' best options overall. But he has fallen off a bit over the last two weeks after a hot start to the season. He'll rank as a mid-range TE2 for Week 6 against the Patriots.
