Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 7:
Demario Douglas, WR, New England Patriots
New England Patriots wide receiver DeMario Douglas endured an underwhelming start to the 2025 season, but he broke out in a huge way with three catches, 71 yards, and a touchdown on Sunday. He scored a 53-yard touchdown and also would have had a 61-yard score, but it was called back due to a teammate's penalty.
Douglas has typically been a short-yardage outlet in the slot before, so it was intriguing to see him catch multiple deep passes on Sunday afternoon. It may be tempting to jump aboard the Douglas hype train after one big week, but we can't ignore how underwhelming he was during the first five games.
Over that five-week span, he had just seven catches for 30 yards. He may have low-end streaming appeal in deep leagues, but for the most part, managers should monitor Douglas without rushing to add him off waivers quite yet.
Luke McCaffrey, WR, Washington Commanders
Washington Commanders wide receiver Luke McCaffrey recorded his third touchdown catch in his last four games in Week 6 against the Chicago Bears. However, McCaffrey has just eight catches for 179 yards on 10 targets so far this season.
Even with Commanders' wideouts Terry McLaurin (quad) and Noah Brown (groin, knee) having missed multiple weeks due to injury, McCaffrey has not seen more than three targets in any game yet in 2025. The 24-year-old clearly has big-play upside, as evidenced by his 22.4-yard-per-reception average, but his low target volume gives him a low floor.
McCaffrey is worth rostering in the deepest fantasy leagues while McLaurin and Brown remain sidelined, but his utility is likely limited.
Michael Wilson, WR, Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Zay Jones (knee) did not participate in Wednesday's walkthrough, while Michael Wilson (foot) was listed as limited.
The Cardinals suffered multiple injuries to wide receivers in Week 6, with Marvin Harrison Jr. leaving with a concussion as well. Jones is coming off his best game of the season, catching five of his eight targets for 79 yards.
Wilson left early with an injury after catching four of five targets for 44 yards. Their statuses will be monitored throughout the week, and Greg Dortch would be a name to watch if Jones and Wilson are unable to play on Sunday.
Brashard Smith, RB, Kansas City Chiefs
However, due to the matchup against the Lions, head coach Andy Reid wanted to lean on his veterans, as the game was crucial to the Kansas City Chiefs, who were sitting at (2-3). With the Las Vegas Raiders on deck in Week 7, and most sportsbooks labeling the Chiefs as 11.5-point favorites, Smith should get some additional work and snaps in this one, making him a long-shot play in Week 7 and a value-add in deeper leagues if it's a breakout game for him.
The other Chiefs running backs, Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt, have both been relatively inefficient with their opportunities, averaging 4.2 and 3.82 YPC, respectively.
Sean Tucker, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Starter Bucky Irving (foot, shoulder) is still banged up and listed as doubtful for Sunday. Tucker made an impact in Tampa Bay's Week 6 win over San Francisco, handling six carries for 25 yards and a touchdown.
White still held a meaningful touch advantage with 20 to Tucker's six, but Tucker still has value as a handcuff to White in case he misses time and is worth rostering in 12-team leagues until Irving returns.
