Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 2:
Rome Odunze, Chicago Bears
Chicago Bears wide receiver Rome Odunze has plenty of talent, but his exact volume could fluctuate from week to week due to the crowded state of the offense. Although the Bears dropped 59 points last week, Odunze and tight end Colston Loveland combined for two catches. Between Luther Burden III, Odunze, Kalif Raymond, and Cole Kmet, there are a lot of reliable targets for Caleb Williams in Chicago.
They all have relatively high ceilings, but we also wouldn't be surprised to see them naturally alternate which players have big games or quiet games. For that reason, there's a decent chance that Odunze is a top-18 fantasy receiver going forward, but there's also a chance that he's a low-end WR3/flex or worse. The 24-year-old belongs on the bench in most leagues for now, especially as he recovers from a calf injury.
He should be active this week, but Burden is currently the only must-start fantasy receiver in Chicago.
Aaron Jones Sr., Minnesota Vikings
Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones Sr. will head into the Week 2 divisional clash against the Chicago Bears this weekend as the team's unquestioned RB1 after the news that Jordan Mason is heading to the short-term Injured Reserve due to a fractured thumb.
The 31-year-old veteran took a back seat to Mason in the season-opening loss to the division-rival Green Bay Packers in Week 1, handling 12 rushing attempts for only 40 yards (3.3 yards per carry), although he was able to find the end zone. Jones did not corral his only target in the passing game. In addition to Jones, rookie Demond Claiborne will have an elevated role as the backup to Jones for however long Mason is out.
Jones, a former fifth-rounder by the Green Bay Packers in 2017 from Texas-El Paso, had his fourth career 1,000-yard season in his first year in Minnesota in 2024, adding five rushing touchdowns. However, he dropped to 548 yards and just two rushing TDs in 12 starts in 2025 while being banged up. With Mason out of the picture for at least four games, Jones will have some RB2 upside in fantasy.
Quentin Johnston, Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston didn't do much with his six targets in Week 1, catching two passes for 17 yards in the loss to Arizona. The situation around him has changed since then. Ladd McConkey left in the third quarter and is now listed with a rib injury after sitting out Wednesday's practice. Johnston was already playing a big role, logging 43 offensive snaps, 78% of the Chargers' total, and his six targets tied Tre' Harris for second on the team behind McConkey's seven.
That opens the door for more work, though Johnston isn't alone. Harris played 41 snaps and drew the same number of targets in the opener. That's enough to keep expectations in check, especially after Johnston managed just 17 yards on his Week 1 chances. Still, his path to more volume is clearer than it was a week ago.
With McConkey's status uncertain heading into Sunday's game against Las Vegas, Johnston's fantasy stock has gotten a noticeable bump. If McConkey sits out, Johnston has near WR2 upside on Sunday.
Parker Washington, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Parker Washington continues to make an incredibly positive impact in fantasy football leagues. After ascending to the WR27 mark last year despite competition from Brian Thomas Jr., Travis Hunter, and Jakobi Meyers, Washington came into 2026 looking to separate himself from this crowded receiver room. We already saw flashes of his ceiling last year, when he caught 19 passes for 347 yards and two touchdowns over the final three weeks of the season.
Fast forward to Week 1 of the 2026 season and he picked up right where he left off, catching five passes for 83 yards and one touchdown. Admittedly, he had a softer matchup against the Browns, but he was still the Jags' most productive receiver in the win. His ability to shake off defenders, make big plays, and win contested scenarios bodes well for him to sustain fantasy value long-term.
He's a WR2 entering Week 2 against the Broncos, even if he ends up facing cornerback Patrick Surtain II for a large portion of the game.
Rashee Rice, Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice caught two passes for 19 yards and a touchdown in the 31-10 win over the Denver Broncos. It was hardly the WR1 performance we've grown accustomed to seeing from Rice, but the dynamic of the Chiefs offense has changed, and Rice himself is returning from an injury. Kansas City ran the ball 38 times compared to 27 pass attempts from Patrick Mahomes.
The acquisition of running back Kenneth Walker appears to have shifted the offensive game plan for Kansas City, which could affect Rice's upside moving forward. The fact that the Chiefs were able to have the offensive performance they did against the Broncos defense could mean that leaning run-heavy is a viable option for the team.
Despite finding pay dirt, Rice also finished tied for fourth on the team in targets. The 26-year-old will look to bounce back in Week 2 against the Indianapolis Colts. The Indianapolis defense just allowed 41 points to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1, so it may not be a tough matchup for Rice. Fantasy managers should feel cautiously optimistic about placing Rice back into their lineups for Week 2.
