Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 2:
Kyle Pitts Sr., Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts Sr. disappeared from the passing game in Week 1, finishing without a catch on one target against Pittsburgh. He was still on the field for 38 of Atlanta's 60 offensive snaps, so the problem wasn't playing time. It was involvement. Bijan Robinson drew 10 targets, Drake London had four, and Jahan Dotson saw three while Pitts got one.
That's a sharp change from 2025, when Pitts finished with 118 targets, 88 catches, 928 yards, and five touchdowns on his way to a TE2 finish in PPR scoring. The quarterback situation gives him some cover. Tua Tagovailoa has yet to practice this week with an oblique injury, while Cooper Rush and Michael Penix Jr. have both been full participants.
Atlanta still hasn't announced who will start Sunday. Pitts can rebound quickly if the passing game settles down, but one target after last year's volume is enough to knock his fantasy stock down heading into Week 2. He is a fringe TE1 heading into a Week 2 tilt against the Panthers.
Pat Freiermuth, Pittsburgh Steelers
Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth got his 2026 season started on the right foot, recording five catches for 46 yards and a touchdown on five targets in his team's Week 1 win over the Atlanta Falcons. Freiermuth had the least productive season of his career on a per-game basis in 2025, hauling in 42 receptions for 486 yards and four touchdowns on 54 targets across 17 games (eight starts).
However, the team enters 2026 with a new play-caller in head coach Mike McCarthy and parted ways with tight ends Jonnu Smith and Connor Heyward over the offseason. While Steelers tight end Darnell Washington remains a part of the team's offense, Freiermuth was on the field for 73% of Pittsburgh's offensive snaps in Week 1.
If Freiermuth's usage ticks back up this season, he could re-emerge as a solid tight end streamer for fantasy managers. For now, he profiles as a solid high-end TE2 in Week 2.
Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints
New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson had a career year with the Saints in 2025, catching 77 of his 102 targets for 889 yards and three touchdowns in 17 games played. The 30-year-old has developed some solid chemistry with young quarterback Tyler Shough in head coach Kellen Moore's high-tempo offense, and with rookie first-round receiver Jordyn Tyson (hamstring) on Injured Reserve to begin the 2026 season, Johnson is going to continue to be a big part of New Orleans' passing attack.
In the Week 1 season-opening loss to the Detroit Lions in overtime on Sunday, Johnson caught three of his seven targets for 54 yards and his first touchdown of the year. He was held out of Wednesday's practice due to an illness, but Johnson should be back on the field on either Thursday or Friday and should not be in danger of missing the Week 2 contest on the road in Baltimore against the Ravens.
The Ravens allowed Colts tight end Tyler Warren to score in Week 1, so Johnson could be primed for another strong performance this weekend. Fantasy managers should consider him a fringe TE1/2.
Isaiah Likely, New York Giants
New York Giants tight end Isaiah Likely went off on Monday Night Football against the Cowboys, hauling in eight targets for 78 yards and two touchdowns. He led the team in receiving yards while finishing second in targets, just one behind Malik Nabers.
Likely showed his athleticism and his scheme fit with new offensive coordinator Matt Nagy designing plays for him similar to the schemes that led to Travis Kelce flourishing under Nagy in Kansas City. He has a tough matchup in Week 2 against the Rams, but he looks ready to live up to the hype and be a true top-10 TE this season in a very heavily involved role with the Giants.
Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert picked up where he left off last season, catching four of five targets for 77 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 24-22 win over Washington. He led Philadelphia in receiving yards despite Jalen Hurts attempting only 25 passes, and his five targets were second on the team.
Goedert scored 11 times in 2025, so another two-touchdown performance immediately makes last year's breakout look a little harder to dismiss as touchdown luck. The 77 yards matter just as much. Goedert topped that mark only twice all of last season, and Philadelphia now has a different-looking target tree after trading A.J. Brown during the offseason.
DeVonta Smith remains the top receiving option, but Goedert showed in Week 1 that there is room for him to stay heavily involved. His fantasy stock is clearly higher coming out of the opener, with another top-10 tight end season looking more realistic than it did a week ago. He is a must-start option facing the Titans on Sunday afternoon.
