Who Should I Start For Fantasy Football Week 13? Rico Dowdle, Jalen Tolbert, Brandin Cooks

Rico Dowdle - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Who should I start for Week 13? Fantasy football outlooks for Rico Dowdle, Jalen Tolbert, Brandin Cooks. Our expert fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks.

The Dallas Cowboys play every Thanksgiving, usually against an NFC East opponent.

This year, they face the New York Giants in a battle of backup quarterbacks.

While Malik Nabers and CeeDee Lamb are must-start options for fantasy players, are Rico Dowdle, Jalen Tolbert, and Brandin Cooks viable starting options in Week 13?

Should I Start Rico Dowdle For Fantasy Football?

Dowdle is the lead running back for the Cowboys. However, he doesn’t have a rushing touchdown this season. Instead, the veteran running back has three receiving touchdowns, ranking second on the team. More importantly, Dowdle is the RB32 for the year, averaging 9.8 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.

Head coach Mike McCarthy called Dowdle the team’s featured running back a few weeks ago. Last week, he had 19 rushing attempts for 86 yards against the Washington Commanders. Fantasy players can start him as a low-end RB2 or high-end flex option this week. Last week, the Giants gave up 127 rushing yards, three touchdowns, and 42.8 fantasy points to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers backfield.

Should I Start Jalen Tolbert For Fantasy Football?

Tolbert was a popular waiver wire addition earlier this year. The third-year pro scored 11.2 or more half-point PPR fantasy in three of the first five games. Furthermore, he leads the Cowboys with four receiving touchdowns, including one last week against the Commanders.

Unfortunately, Tolbert’s fantasy production has regressed lately. He has averaged only 4.6 targets and 6.1 fantasy points per game since the bye week, scoring single digits in every contest. Fantasy players should only start Tolbert as a desperation flex option in deeper leagues.

Should I Start Brandin Cooks For Fantasy Football?

Cooks has spent most of the season on injured reserve with a knee injury. The veteran wide receiver was expected to miss only four games. Unfortunately, he has missed the past eight weeks. Cooks had a solid Week 1 performance, totaling 12.5 half-point PPR fantasy points. However, the veteran has scored 2.6 or fewer fantasy points in the other three games this year.

Thankfully, Cooks was a limited participant in practice on Tuesday, giving him a chance to play on Thanksgiving. However, fantasy players should avoid starting the veteran wide receiver in his first game back in the lineup. The Cowboys' pass attack offers limited upside without Dak Prescott under center.
