Fantasy Football Draft Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider drafting in 2025:
Kenneth Walker - RB, Seattle Seahawks
2024 was a disappointing season for Kenneth Walker III. He posted career lows in rushing yards, yards per carry, and rushing touchdowns. Most of this can be explained by the fact that he missed six games nursing various injuries. One positive takeaway from Walker's 2024 was that his receiving usage saw a big boost. He posted career highs in targets, receptions, and receiving yards.
This was an encouraging development given his perceived lack of ability as a pass catcher. While Walker's 2024 rushing totals weren't great, he continued to post strong advanced metrics. Among 46 backs with 100+ carries, Walker finished third in PFF's elusive rating and ninth in missed tackles forced. Seattle also hired Klint Kubiak this offseason as their new offensive coordinator. He brings a rushing scheme where highly talented backs have consistently thrived throughout the years.
Perhaps the addition of Kubiak is what can finally unlock the next level of Walker's game. While there are some concerns given Walker's injuries, Seattle's offensive line, and the addition of Sam Darnold as quarterback, Kubiak's system has proven it can get the most out of talented backs. Walker certainly fits the bill. Playing for a new contract, Walker could be in line for a career year. He is a fine RB2 target in all fantasy drafts.
Tony Pollard - RB, Tennessee Titans
Statistics-wise, not much changed for Tony Pollard from 2023 to 2024. Despite being signed by the Tennessee Titans in the offseason, he was more or less the same player, garnering roughly the same workload he did as a Cowboy. Pollard was bothered by an ankle injury for a bit and missed one game as a result, but provided decent low-end RB2 value (albeit without much ceiling). He finished as the RB21 in PPR formats on a career high in carries (260) and rushing yards (1.079).
There was talk about lessening his workload last season, but backfield mate Tyjae Spears dealt with multiple injuries throughout the year, and there wasn't much behind him depth-wise. Those same conversations are happening again, and they may stick this time, considering Spears did come on late in 2024 after he regained his health.
Tennessee ran the ball at the fourteenth-highest rate last season and is likely to continue deploying a run-heavy game plan with rookie quarterback Cam Ward at the helm. Pollard is still a viable NFL back, but an emerging, young backup and inexperienced signal-caller could cap his ceiling and efficiency in 2025. The 28-year-old comes in as RotoBaller's PPR RB22 and the No. 62 player overall.
D'Andre Swift - RB, Chicago Bears
D'Andre Swift's prospects of avoiding formidable competition for touches within Chicago's backfield rotation had appeared tenuous entering the offseason. However, Swift is primed to operate as the Bears' lead back after the team failed to make any impactful additions at running back during free agency or the NFL Draft. Chicago made no changes to the backfield during free agency and did not address the position until they selected Kyle Monangai in Round 7 of April's NFL Draft (233rd overall).
Swift finished fourth among all backs in offensive snaps (703) during 2024, and was 10th with a career high 253 attempts (14.9 per game). He also accumulated a career best 632 yards after contact, and finished 18th in rushing yards (959/56.4 per game). Swift registered a career-low 3.8 yards per attempt, and was 47th in rush yards over expected per attempt (-0.69) according to NextGenStats, but he was also fifth in routes run (351), and 14th in targets (52/3.1 per game), and receptions (42/2.5 per game).
Swift's lead back role should be preserved, as he is cemented atop a depth chart that contains Roschon Johnson and Monangai. The Bears' offense should perform more proficiently under Ben Johnson, while Swift will benefit from offseason improvements to the offensive line. Those factors should propel Swift to production that surpasses the expectations of his ADPs in best ball leagues (87/RB30), and dynasty startup drafts (103/RB32).
Jaylen Warren - RB, Pittsburgh Steelers
Jaylen Warren has operated in a production-inhibiting timeshare with Najee Harris during Warren's first three seasons with Pittsburgh. Warren averaged 7.2 attempts/34.9 rushing yards per game, and 4.8 yards per attempt from 2022-2024. His involvement as a receiving weapon launched him to seventh among all backs in receptions (99/3.1 per game), and 10th in targets (21/3.8 per game) since 2023. Warren also paced Pittsburgh's backfield with a 48 percent snap share from Weeks 7-17 last season, while averaging 9.4 attempts/42.9 rushing yards per game, and rising to seventh in targets per route run (22.9 percent) and receiving yards (271/27.1 per game) during that 10-game span.
Harris's departure to Los Angeles created a temporary pathway for Warren to seize an expanded workload within the Steelers' reshaped backfield. However, that scenario dissipated three days after Warren signed his one-year restricted free agent tender, when Pittsburgh selected Kaleb Johnson during Round 3 of April's NFL Draft (83rd overall).
Warren should retain his previous workload while Johnson will ascend into the role that had previously been designated for Harris. Both backs will operate in a restructured offense that will be spearheaded by 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers, who signed a one-year deal with the Steelers. Warren should supply RB3 output, which makes him a viable option at his Round 8 ADP in best ball drafts (89/RB32) and his Round 9 ADP in dynasty startups (104/RB32).
JK Dobbins - RB, Denver Broncos
If you watched the Los Angeles Chargers offense last year, you know that J.K. Dobbins was a big part of it. He ran for 905 yards and nine touchdowns on 4.6 yards per carry, and was the key to OC Greg Roman's physical run game. However, despite outstanding play, he was not signed by any team during free agency until June 10.
The Denver Broncos signed Dobbins to a one-year, $ 5.25 million contract this offseason. There's a big reason for that: Dobbins has had just one NFL season where he has played at least 10 games, and he's going into his sixth season. In his NFL career alone, Dobbins has torn his LCL, ACL, and Achilles and also suffered a knee sprain that caused him to miss four games in 2024. Dobbins is still just 26 years old, and the Broncos don't need him to be a workhorse.
Second-round rookie RJ Harvey, second-year bulldozer Audric Estime, and third-year scatback Jaleel McLaughlin will all contribute to Sean Payton's high-powered offense. Expect Dobbins and Harvey to handle most of the carries, with Estime getting some short-yardage work and McLaughlin chipping in on third downs. With Dobbins recently signing with Denver, the former Baltimore Raven now comes in at RB41 heading into upcoming fantasy football drafts.
