Chase Burns Prospect Update for Fantasy Baseball
The 22-year-old made his professional debut with High-A Dayton and wasted little time making an impact. He only needed 11 2/3 innings to prove he was ready to join Double-A. With High-A, he struck out 20 batters and allowed just five walks.
With Double-A, Burns continued to dominate, logging 42 innings to the tune of a 1.29 ERA and a stellar 0.71 WHIP. During this stretch, Burns struck out 55 batters and allowed just four walks.

This past week, Burns got the call to join Triple-A Louisville and looked quite impressive in his debut. Facing the potent Iowa Cubs, Burns allowed just four hits and two runs across 5 1/3 innings with seven strikeouts.
Chase Burns Outlook for Fantasy Baseball
Given his impressive progression through the minor leagues, Burns should be viewed as a must-stash option in all leagues. The right-hander has yet to slow down and has been able to enjoy similar success at Triple-A. He may only need a handful of starts at the top level of the minor leagues before earning the call to Cincinnati.
Currently, with the Hunter Greene (groin) on the 15-day IL, veteran Wade Miley has taken the No. 5 spot in the rotation. Miley has posted a modest 6.75 ERA over his first 12 innings. With the Reds in the Wild Card hunt, Burns would provide them much-needed depth to their rotation. He should be rostered in all standard leagues.
"He can go to the big leagues today and win games."
