Week 18 Tight End Outlooks For Fantasy Football

Chig Okonkwo, Tennessee Titans - Fantasy Football Outlook

Tennessee Titans tight end Chig Okonkwo (abdomen) popped up on the Week 18 injury report on Thursday and is now questionable to play on Sunday in the regular-season finale against the division-rival Houston Texans.

Okonkwo was limited in Thursday's practice and missed Friday's session, so he should be considered on the wrong side of questionable. The Titans are only playing for draft positioning in the regular-season finale, so there's a good chance they'll hold out any injured players that are questionable like Okonkwo.

If the 25-year-old doesn't play this weekend, look for Nick Vannett and Josh Whyle to get some more run at the tight end position for Tennessee. Although Okonkwo started making some noise in recent weeks as a pass-catcher, he was mostly off the fantasy radar in 2024 and will finish with 52 catches for 479 yards and only two TDs in 16 games if he doesn't play in Week 18.

- Keith Hernandez, RotoBaller

T.J. Hockenson, Minnesota Vikings - Fantasy Football Outlook

Minnesota Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson will get a tough matchup this Sunday night in a road tilt with the Detroit Lions. Hockenson had a nice total his last time out in a win against the Green Bay Packers, but he'll have a less vulnerable outing in store against a Lions defense that's limited TEs to 9.2 fantasy points per game in 2024 – the second-fewest.

However, it's worth noting that they've let up sizable performances twice over the past three weeks. Detroit just got torched by George Kittle in Week 17 for 112 yards on 8-of-8 receiving and let Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox of the Buffalo Bills combine for six catches and 95 yards two weeks prior.

With a 57-point over/under on tap, there should be plenty of opportunities to go around for the veteran. The Iowa alum ranks as RotoBaller's PPR TE7 in Week 18.

- Alex Ciulla, RotoBaller

Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles - Fantasy Football Outlook

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert (knee) has officially been activated from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's Week 18 contest against the New York Giants. Goedert missed the minimum of four games, putting a pause on what has been one of the worst seasons of his career.

Through just nine games, he has 38 catches, 441 yards, and a career-low two touchdowns. He ranks 29th among tight ends in fantasy points this season, and he'll be a mid-range TE2 option for Sunday's divisional contest. Unfortunately for Goedert, the Giants have allowed the fewest fantasy points to opposing tight ends in 2024.

- Andersen Pickard, RotoBaller
