Week 13 Monday Night (MNF) Matchups Analysis: Start/Sit

What's up RotoBallers. Below you will find our Week 13 NFL Monday Night matchups & fantasy football start/sit analysis for the 2016 NFL football season. Ben Ruppert breaks down the final portion of the Week 13 matchups to help you prepare your lineups to win this week.

Each week of the NFL season, we will be breaking down individual matchups and providing you with some fantasy football advice and lineup recommendations based on matchups that we love, matchups that we hate, and some high-risk/high-reward players, as well. It’s essential to analyze the weekly NFL match-ups to find lineup sleepers and gems, while also avoiding those players who may turn out to be busts.

Editor's Note: New users that sign up on FantasyAces, make a $20 deposit, and enter any game will receive our full season NFL (or NBA) Premium Pass for free, a $59.99 value. Colts @ Jets- Monday 12/5 @ 8:30 PM EST

Matchups We Love

T.Y. Hilton (WR, IND)

Hilton is exactly the type of explosive WR capable of burning this Jets secondary. With Andrew Luck expected to be back this week, Hilton has a safe floor and an extremely high ceiling. He has at least 80 yards or a touchdown in six of Luck’s last eight starts. Even with the return on Donte Moncrief, Hilton has still led this team in targets; in the four games since his return, Hilton has 35 targets compared to Moncrief’s 29.

This team struggled against New England receivers last week (who doesn’t though, right?), and before their bye week allowed Kenny Britt to cross the 100-yard mark. The Jets have allowed the 11th most fantasy points to the WR position this season, and the eighth most receiving yards. With a healthy Luck, expect big things from Hilton.

Brandon Marshall (WR, NYJ)

The Colts have given up the 13th most fantasy points to opposing WR this season, but of late they have been among the worst teams in the league. Last week, Antonio Brown dominated them for three scores, and the week before that Rishard Matthews caught nine passes for 122 yards. Marshall finally found the end zone last week for the first time since Week 5, but the targets over that span never faded.

Marshall has received eight or more targets in nine of 10 games with Fitz at the helm. With the Colts top CB Vontae Davis a bit banged up, Marshall could further exploit this matchup and have back-to-back games with a TD for the first time since Weeks 4 and 5.

Matchups We Hate

Frank Gore (RB, IND)

Gore is coming off his worst game of the season last week. Against the Steelers, he rushed 15 times for only 28 yards as they stacked the box against Scott Tolzien. Andrew Luck being healthy should help open some running lanes, but the Jets are no joke at defending the run. They have allowed the seventh least rushing yards in the league this season.

What they have not done well is defend pass-catching backs; they have allowed the eighth most receptions to opposing RB. Outside of the Titans game two weeks ago, Gore has not eclipsed 27 yards through the air this season, averaging only 2.5 targets over his past four games. He will need that number to increase if he wants to find success on Sunday against a stout run defense.

Notable Players

Donte Moncrief (WR, IND)

If there’s one thing Moncrief improved instantly upon his return, it’s the Colts red zone efficiency. In the four games since his return he is averaging only four receptions for 45 yards per game, but has scored a TD in all four of those games. At 6’2” 221lbs. he is the biggest receiver on this team, and is often utilized in the red zone over Hilton and Phillip Dorsett, who are both undersized speedsters.

If there is one thing you can bank on happening in this game, it’s that Moncrief finds the end zone again. His ceiling is capped by Hilton taking the lion’s share of the targets, but his floor is high thanks to his high red zone use.

Matt Forte (RB, NYJ)

After getting his season back on track, Forte was derailed last week against the Patriots. He ran 13 times for 27 yards, and caught three passes for 23 yards in the loss. In the four games before that Forte averaged 24 touches per game, turning those into an average 115 yards per game with five total TD. The Colts have given up the eighth most fantasy points to the RB position, including 12 all-purpose scores to the position (seventh most overall in the league).

Expect Forte’s touches to jump back up to previous week’s totals as long as the Jets can keep this game close. Even with Bilal Powell taking around 10 touches, Forte is the de facto RB1 in this offense and will likely be a solid contributor.

Quincy Enunwa (WR, NYJ)

Last week with the Jets trailing most of the game, Enunwa found his way to the best fantasy day he's had all season. He caught all five of his targets for 109 yards and a TD on the day. However, in the past five games Fitz has played in, he has looked Enunwa's way over five times only once (Week 8, 11 targets).

He has had two phenomenal games (last week's game, and Week 8 when he went 4-93-1), but the other three have been mediocre with an average of two receptions for 46 yards. He is a talented WR that needs to be targeted more in this offense, but until then he will be hit-or-miss.
