Waiver Wire Pickups Recap - Wide Receivers (WR)

This week I will recap of all the wide receiver (WR) waiver wire recommendations I've made on the year.  I'll take a look at what their fantasy value is now, and what their value will be for the remainder of the year.  Since there is a lot to talk about, let's get to it:

Wide Receivers Waiver Wire Recap (Weeks 1-7)

• 2025 fantasy football rankings
• Running back (RB) fantasy football rankings
• Wide receiver (WR) fantasy football rankings
• Tight end (TE) fantasy football rankings
• Quarterback (QB) fantasy football rankings
• FLEX fantasy football rankings
• Defense (D/ST) fantasy football rankings
• Kicker (K) fantasy football rankings
• Dynasty fantasy football rankings

Week 1 Waiver Recommendations:

1. Percy Harvin - He starts practice this week.  If he's available in your league, pick him up!  The value he'll provide immediately and going forward will be very high.  The only catch is when he will play and whether he will be 100%.
2. Joique Bell - He's currently battling a rib injury but still holds value in PPR leagues.  As long as Bush stays healthy, this will impact Bell's value.  If Bush ever gets injured pick up Bell!
3. Cordarrelle Patterson - Value is very low right now as the Vikings haven't got him involved.  Poor QB play may be the biggest factor and maybe Josh Freeman brings life to the Vikings offense.  At this time I'd only monitor Patterson.
4. Brent Celek - Don't pick up Celek.  Last week, Zach Ertz took the top of the depth chart for the Eagles and it's safe to drop Celek.

Week 2 Waiver Recommendations:

1. Julian Edelman - Danny Amendola can't stay healthy so Edelman continues to get targets and catches.  He's a fantasy PPR WR option.
2. Marlon Brown - Now that Jacoby Jones is back from injury Brown's value has decreased.  He's a borderline bench WR but nothing more.  It's safe to look elsewhere.
3. Kenny Stills - Stills has flashed his potential a few times this year and I still like what he brings to the table.  However, I don't think he's worth a waiver pick up this week.  Continue monitoring him and see if any injuries occur to the Saints WR group.

Week 3 Waiver Recommendations:

1. Eddie Royal - Last week Royal scored another td to have 6 on the season.  He's a boom or bust play and I lean more to the bust side.  There's too many other options on San Diego to make him viable (Woodhead, Gates, Brown, & Allen).  If you like to gamble he's an option for you to consider.
2. Robert Woods - Buffalo is on dire times at QB and I wouldn't recommend keeping or picking up a Buffalo WR other than Stevie Johnson.  Feel free to move on from Woods.
3. Josh Gordon - Last week was a disappointment for Gordon since his return from suspension.  However he's a must add.  If he's available pick him up!  He's got a lot of value ahead of him.
4. DeAndre Hopkins - Hopkins has had some great weeks and he's a nice WR bench option to use for bye weeks.  If he's available he's a nice option to consider to place on your roster.

Week 4 Waiver Recommendations:

1. Santonio Holmes - In my article I stated that Holmes was a good play IF he could stay healthy.  Big surprise... he's not.  Move on from Holmes he's not worth a roster spot.
2. Nate Washington - Washington was looking great until Jake Locker went down with an injury.  Locker returned from injury last week so I would continue monitoring Washington to see if the chemistry continues to grow.
3. Santana Moss - With the rise of Jacob Reed as a solid #2 option in the receiving corps of the Redskins the value of Moss had diminished.  Moss can be safely dropped.

Week 5 Waiver Recommendations:

1. Jerricho Cotchery - I don't like his long term value as Markus Wheaton will take his spot when healthy.  Feel free to drop him.
2. Jerome Simpson - I see Simpson as a wild card.  Three different QBs will have started for the Vikings by week 8...because of that I don't know what to think of Simpson.  If you own him keep him on the bench and see what happens.  If you don't own him continue monitoring.
3. Kendall Wright - If he's available pick him up.  Last week he had a solid game 9 catches 98yrds.  Jake Locker is back and this will help his value.

Week 6 Waiver Recommendations:

1. Michael Crabtree - Crabtree is not 100% but will be back by the end of November.  If he's available in your league you could snatch him up now or wait till early November to pick him up.  Either way I like Crabtree as a nice WR option for your playoffs.
2. LaVon Brazill - In my original article I stated to watch monitor Brazil and see if any injuries occur.  Unfortunately for the Colts Reggie Wayne tore his ACL and is done for the season.  I expect that Brazil will step up and fill in for Wayne's spot.  He's a sneaky pick up this week.
3. Keenan Allen - This one is simple, pick him up!
4. Justin Blackmon - Another easy one, pick him up!  Last week he didn't perform as hoped-- six catches  for 58 yards-- but he's got incredible upside.

Week 7 Waiver Recommendations:

1. Rueben Randle - I believe that Nicks will be traded to a team in the playoff hunt who needs WR help.  I don't know who it will be but I have a hunch it will happen.  When it does happen Randle is a must add and if you have the same hunch pick him up now.
2. Kris Durham - Durham is a nice option for PPR leagues until Nate Burleson returns.
3. Jarrett Boykin - With the piling of injuries happening at Green Bay (Finley, Cobb, Jones) Boykins stepped up in a big way this week!  If he's still available in your league pick him up this week!
4. Mario Manningham - Just started practicing this week for the 49ers and I'd continue to monitor.  I don't think there's a ton of upside here but its worth watching since the current San Francisco WR's have been terrible this season.
