Top Fantasy Football Dynasty Players For Each Team: AFC East

josh allen fantasy football rankings NFL injury news DFS lineup picks

Ellis Johnson selects the most valuable dynasty fantasy football player on each AFC East team for the 2024 season. These are the star players you want to have.

Welcome back to the top dynasty players on each NFL team. In this series of articles, I’ll divide the teams by division and break down the situation that may impact these players in the future.

Today we break down the AFC East. This division is loaded with three QBs begging to answer all the questions around them. Can Josh Allen get over the hump? Will Aaron Rodgers return to form? Can Tua Tagovailoa prove he is a Super Bowl-worthy QB? It's a big season for these QBs and the playmakers around them. Plus, don't forget the Patriots are entering their first season without Bill Belichick as head coach.

With the NFL kickoff right around the corner, it's a great time to get a lay of the land for fantasy. Many of the rookies and veterans on new teams are making highlight-reel plays in camp. That being said, let's see who tops each of these teams in dynasty value.

Editor's Note: RotoBaller’s Dynasty content delivers year-round dynasty fantasy football rankings, trade advice, rookie analysis, and player outlooks. Build a title-winning roster with sleepers, stash targets, and our full dynasty fantasy football guide.

Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen (QB, BUF)

After finishing as a top-2 fantasy QB each of the last four seasons, there is no question that he is the best QB in fantasy. Arguably his most impressive feat was last season where he maintained fantasy production despite a new offensive coordinator and Stefon Diggs disappearing from the box score.

Thankfully it is that stretch of games that we can hang our hat on heading into 2024, with Diggs now in Houston. The team has replaced Diggs with a high-variance prospect in Keon Coleman and an electric young TE in Dalton Kincaid. It will be a big ask for Allen to continue his top-2 streak, but if anyone can do it, it’s him.

Miami Dolphins

Jaylen Waddle (WR, MIA)

I’ll be honest, selecting the most valuable Dolphin was the hardest selection of this article. If you view dynasty in short-term windows, Tyreek Hill’s elite production could make a case to be most valuable. At the same time, if De'Von Achane can repeat the efficiency of his rookie season, he could also top this list.

Jaylen Waddle is the most valuable because of the combination of youth and production. Although last season was littered with injuries, in 2022 he was the WR7 and in 2021 was the WR17, showcasing the upside he possesses. The biggest question is how much longer Hill will play for, as his departure will leave Waddle as the team’s top target. Until then, he’s a WR2 with upside each week.

New York Jets

Garrett Wilson (WR, NYJ)

The Jets are starting a make-or-break season in 2024. Thankfully, they have two young stars to lead their offense. This selection could have easily been Breece Hall; however, for dynasty, I have to take the side of the WR as they tend to have greater longevity.

Wilson has shown us that he has everything needed to be an elite fantasy receiver. However, Zach Wilson and the plethora of other quarterbacks have limited him from reaching his full potential. With Aaron Rodgers only playing one, or maybe two more years, he needs to come through for fantasy immediately to be still viewed as one of the top at the position.

New England Patriots

Drake Maye (QB, NE)

Who knows if we will see Drake Maye start many games in 2023, but the third overall pick is easily the most valuable player on this roster. The Patriots are in a strong rebuild and still have the fantasy stench of their previous two seasons. It’s risky, but this might be the time to get on the Patriots, with all their players being relatively easy to acquire.

Maye enters this season sitting behind Jacoby Brissett with the hopes of becoming the long-term starter on this team. Maye is a very interesting prospect with all the traits to become a top QB in the NFL. The consensus of fantasy analysts is that he will need to be managed correctly by the team and given time to develop if he is to reach his full potential. After two decades, we finally have a new regime in New England; let’s hope they got their first draft pick right.
