NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 3/15/22

With the trade deadline looming teams are starting to scratch players making it a tad bit harder to maneuver each slate, however, I will do my best in guiding you through this large eleven-game slate tonight starting at 7:00 p.m. EST.

There is only one team playing on the second-half of a back-to-back, Arizona. The Canadiens and their league-worst 3.74 GA will host the surging Coyotes, while the Panthers and their league-best 4.06 GF will look to fend off the in-form Sharks.

DISCLOSURE: Things may not be the same at puck drop due to COVID-19 and injuries. Make sure to monitor the news feed and play at your own risk.

Vegas Odds for the Day

NHL DFS Goalies

Igor Shesterkin- DK $8.4K || FD $8.7K

Opponent - Anaheim Ducks

We are back picking on the Ducks once more as they continue to struggle. Not only are they struggling, but they also traded Josh Manson yesterday to the Avalanche, leaving a big piece of their defense missing. The Ducks are one of the worst teams on the slate tonight and the Rangers are playing at home. This should be a no-brainer in terms of a safe play in the net.

Others To Consider (Cash/GPP): Bobrovsky(DK $8.5K || FD $8.6K), Kuemper(DK $8.3K || FD $8.5K), Demko(DK $8K || FD $7.5K), Hellebuyck(DK $7.6K || FD $7.4K), Oettinger(DK $7.5K || FD $7.7K)

NHL DFS Centers

Connor McDavid-DK $9K || FD $10K

Opponent - Detroit Red Wings

Is he back? Is McDavid really scoring again? Looks like it! Matthews is out after his dirty hit in the Heritage loss to Buffalo also, so all eyes will be on McDavid. However, McDavid does deserve the attention since getting Evander Kane back on his wing. In two matches having quality talent, McDavid has a 3-1-4 line and 10.0 shots. The Red Wings are certainly not a formidable defense and the Oilers captain will get every chance to produce.

Roope Hintz- DK $5.7K || FD $6.6K

Opponent - Toronto Maple Leafs

There are many great matchups to consider on the slate tonight, but we cannot overlook Dallas versus the Matthewsless Maple Leafs. The Leafs were already struggling all-around, but now they lose their best offensive weapon for two games. This also takes the pressure off Hintz to perform against Matthews. His only worry will be John Tavares who has been less than subpar this season. Hintz continues to provide a bulk of the offensive production for Dallas and in his last five games, he has a 0-5-5 line with 8.0 shots and 2.0 blocked shots. He is certainly not in crazy form, but he is at least producing at a point-per-game.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Barkov(DK $8.8K || FD $9.5K), Miller(DK $6.8K || FD $8.4K), Suzuki(DK $6K || FD $6.3K), Dubois(DK $5.8K || FD $6.6K), Strome(DK $3.6K || FD $5.7K), Haula(DK $3.3K || FD $4.1K)

NHL DFS Wings

Nikolai Ehlers- DK $4.9K || FD $7K

Opponent - Vegas Golden Knights

Ehlers is in the ultimate position and he is the perfect salary for us to take full advantage of. The winger has been red hot since his season debut and now he has been promoted back to the second-line with teammates Kyle Connor and Pierre-Luc Dubois. The Knights could not be in any worse of a position right now and in their last ten matches they are giving up an average of 3.3 goals per game – an additional 0.4 than the season average –. In Ehlers's first game on the second-line he had a 1-1-2 line and 5.0 shots. This is a great spot to continue thriving in his new role.

Clayton Keller- DK $5.3K || FD $7.2K

Opponent - Montreal Canadiens

We have the battle for the first overall tonight between Arizona and Montreal. This matchup is hard to predict because of what is on the line, however, we should at least see a flurry of goals. Cue Keller who is spearheading Arizona's offense. The winger has not disappointed and he is a huge part of the Coyotes’ recent success. In his last five appearances, he has a 4-5-9 line and 12.0 shots.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Pastrnak(DK $8K || FD $8.4K), Connor(DK $6.8K || FD $9.6K), Kane(DK $6.3K || FD $6.7K), Robertson(DK $6.2K || FD $8.7K), Panarin(DK $5.2K || FD $7.4K), Schmaltz(DK $5K || FD $5.8K)

NHL DFS Defensemen

Shayne Gostisbehere- DK $4.8K || FD $5.5K

Opponent - Montreal Canadiens

Gostisbehere is being handed the keys once again this season after teammate and trade block resident Jakob Chychrun got hurt. "Ghost", has taken quite the step back since his explosion earlier this season, however, this is the perfect opportunity for him to get right. Over his last five games, he has a 1-4-5 line with 13.0 shots and 10.0 blocked shots. This should be a rather fast-paced game where Gostisbehere should at least hit his floor with points coming at a bonus.

Esa Lindell- DK $4K || FD $4.6K

Opponent - Toronto Maple Leafs

It should be to no surprise that Lindell is once again being mentioned in this article. After not letting us down against the Rangers at the weekend we are back with an even better matchup this time around. Aforementioned, the Leafs are struggling and everyone is taking notice. However, they are now playing without arguably their best player. This may affect Lindell’s chances of maintaining a solid floor, but his chances of hitting his ceiling once again are tremendous. The Leafs are averaging 4.38 goals against per game in their last ten matches – 1.16 more goals than their season average –. At just a $200 salary increase on DraftKings after a goal and an assist, we are headed right back to the well.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Josi(DK $7.8K || FD $7.3K), Hamilton(DK $6.4K || FD $6.4K), Fox(DK $5.5K || FD $6.8K), Hughes(DK $5.4K || FD $6.1K), Bouchard(DK $5K || FD $5.3K), Spence(DK $2.6K || FD $3.6K)
