Tight End Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 10: Top Free Agent Adds Include Cade Otton, Greg Dulcich, Cole Kmet, Isaiah Likely

Cole Kmet - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL injury News

Craig Rondinone's fantasy football tight end waiver wire pickups for Week 10 of the 2022 NFL season. His free agent TEs to add, stream and stash off waivers.

No Mark Andrews equals a big problem for most of the fantasy football teams that employ him as their starting tight end. Four NFL teams are on bye this week, with the worst one for fantasy footballers in terms of tight ends being the Baltimore Ravens.

Not only is Andrews, the second-best TE in fantasy football, off, but so is his tight end teammate and sudden hot commodity, Isaiah Likely. While no tight end will replace or replicate the numbers Andrews puts up, there are many candidates to work as a one-week option or a rest-of-the-season option for needy fantasy managers.

Without further ado, here are the best tight end waiver wire pickups for Week 10!

Top Tight Ends to Pickup - Week 10 Waiver Wire

Cade Otton, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Otton is no Rob Gronkowski when it comes to speed, big-play ability, or endorsements, but he has become a dependable option for Tom Brady in all areas on the field and at all times of the game. Otton caught the game-winning TD against the L.A. Rams this weekend to essentially save the Buccaneers' season and is solidifying himself as one of the steadier pass catchers on the Bucs' roster.

Otton’s upcoming schedule is fantasy-positive as his next trio of games is against Seattle, Cleveland, and New Orleans. None are ranked in the top-10 in pass defense. He should be able to average 40-60 yards per game over this three-week span and find the end zone another time or two. He is back to being the best bet on fantasy waiver wires at the tight end position right now.

Greg Dulcich, Denver Broncos

One of the few bright spots on one of the worst offenses in the NFL, Dulcich should be fresh coming off a bye as he faces a Tennessee defense that had trouble covering Kansas City’s Travis Kelce Sunday night (10 receptions for 106 yards). The promising rookie has not had a bad week yet (12-182-1 over three games) since getting on the field and has shown some chemistry with QB Russell Wilson, something that is hard to say about Wilson’s wide receivers.

Dulcich has better wheels than most tight ends (15.2 YPC) and has proven he can make chunk plays downfield as he has catches of 38 and 39 yards already this season. The kid averaged 17.6 yards per catch during his college career at UCLA, so we should have seen this coming. You cannot go wrong with either Otton or Dulcich as both rookies have good fantasy value and great fantasy value for the future, but you could make the argument that Dulcich is the more explosive tight end of the two.

Other Tight Ends to Consider Adding

Cole Kmet, Chicago Bears

In one of the bigger midseason shocks of the NFL season, Chicago’s offense is actually scoring points and franchise quarterback Justin Fields is actually completing passes. Kmet has become a big benefactor of this with three touchdown catches over his past two contests. Fantasy managers with any sense knew Kmet had the talent and tools to be a decent fantasy tight end. He just needed a quarterback who could get him the ball and an offense to draw up plays for him. Kmet might finally have both, so picking him up in either standard or dynasty leagues is a solid move.

Isaiah Likely, Baltimore Ravens

Likely has suddenly become Lamar Jackson’s second-best target behind Andrews now that the Ravens receiving corps has been riddled with injuries and up-and-down play. He has scored touchdowns in back-to-back games and could watch his fantasy worth skyrocket if Andrews misses more time and opens up more targets for this talented tight end. Likely would be ranked higher if Baltimore was not off this week.

Noah Fant, Seattle Seahawks

Memo to Pete Carroll and the Seattle coaching staff: Less Will Dissly, more Fant! Fant had his best game of the season with five catches for 96 yards against the mistake-prone Arizona Cardinals. He is a distant fourth in Seattle’s pecking order behind breakout running back Kenneth Walker III and wideouts DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, but hopefully, he has now established himself as the team’s top tight end and will watch his numbers and fantasy value increase in the coming weeks.

Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints

Johnson is as dependent on touchdowns as President Biden is on teleprompters. He does not catch enough passes to help fantasy managers in the reception and yardage departments, so he needs to be targeted inside the red zone to have fantasy worth. As long as the Saints' top receivers are dealing with injuries, though, Johnson is a possible spot starter for a TE-starved fantasy squad. He has scored three touchdowns over his last three games, including a sweet 41-yarder against Baltimore this past Monday night.

Do Not Forget About…

Tommy Tremble, Carolina Panthers

The second-year man has been a project for the Panthers coaching staff, but he is slowly showing signs of getting what it takes to be an NFL tight end. He has scored two touchdowns over his past three games and should see a value bump if Baker Mayfield takes back Carolina’s starting signal-caller role.

Hunter Henry, New England Patriots

Mac Jones is suffering through a sophomore slump, and his pass catchers are suffering too. Henry has taken fantasy hits because the Patriots' passing attack has only been attacking its own receivers and tight ends this year. He caught four passes for 50 yards against Indianapolis this past Sunday, though, so if Jones improves and returns to his rookie form, Henry will start catching touchdown tosses again. Let’s pray the Patriots get their act together on offense during their bye week.

Foster Moreau, Las Vegas Raiders

Moreau continues to fill in for the hamstrung Darren Waller, but he is no Waller. Moreau has 11 catches for 101 yards (and zero touchdowns) in the past three games where Waller has been sidelined, so he is only an option in the deepest of deep leagues next week.
