Five Players to Stash Now in Redraft Leagues

Dallas Goedert - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Frank's top players to stash for the fantasy football playoffs in 2020. These RB, WR, and TE could be sleepers on the waiver wire that pay off at a low cost.

We're now heading into Week 8 and approaching the stretch run of the fantasy football season. This means that it's important to scour your waiver wire for potential values and look at remaining schedules for exploitable matchups. This could help bolster the depth of your roster, making you well-equipped to handle the bye weeks. It also might open up possibilities for potential trades in the near future.

In this article, we'll take a look at five of my favorite players to stash in redraft leagues. The list will include three wide receivers, one running back, and one tight end. These will be players with rostered percentages that vary from 1-50% in Yahoo! leagues. They are five players who are either dealing with nagging injuries or diminished roles with the potential for a bump in value in the upcoming weeks.

The list doesn't include any quarterbacks because it's such a deep position with potential streamers available on the wire in most leagues. There are also no running backs who need an injury for a boost in value or an injured player to remain out to sustain current production. Lastly, Antonio Brown is not on this list because it's hard to bet on a player providing solid value after such a long lay-off in an offense with several mouths to feed. With that in mind, let's take a look at five players to stash right now.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Dallas Goedert (TE, PHI)

47% Rostered

There's a chance that Goedert was dropped in your league because he's been out since Week 3. If that's the case, you need to pick him up immediately. Goedert is expected to return to the lineup in Week 10, following Philly's bye. Zach Ertz is likely to be out for at least another month, which puts him on track for a potential return in Week 13. This would give Goedert an opportunity for increased volume when he returns to the lineup.

Even when Ertz comes back, it's clear that there's a changing of the guard at tight end in Philly. Ertz is unlikely to be with the team next year based on how contract negotiations have gone. The Eagles also have a remaining schedule that includes several exploitable matchups: @ NYG, @ CLE, vs. SEA, @ GB, vs. NO, @ ARI, and @ DAL. With Carson Wentz playing well and the barren state of the tight end position, Goedert is a must-stash player.

Allen Lazard (WR, GB)

31% Rostered

It was a shame to see Lazard go down with a core muscle injury during his huge game against the Saints, where he caught 6-of-8 targets for 146 yards and a touchdown. The good news is that he's eligible to come off injured reserve in Week 9, so there's a chance that he'll be back on the field soon. Aaron Rodgers is currently playing at an MVP-level, so rostering the WR2 in this Packers offense will be profitable.

The Packers' remaining schedule includes: @ SF, vs. JAX, @ IND, vs., PHI, @ DET, vs. CAR, and vs. TEN. While there are some tough matchups there, that playoff slate of matchups looks appealing. Lazard would immediately become an upside WR3 once he returns to the lineup. The time to act on Lazard is right now - go check your wire to pounce on him if he's available.

La'Mical Perine (RB, NYJ)

16% Rostered

Even though the Jets are an absolute dumpster fire, Perine is a player to stash because he has a clear path to the starting running back role. The Jets are rebuilding, so it's likely that they'll want to see what they have in Perine, resulting in fewer touches to Frank Gore. This would become even more of a possibility if the team decides to fire Adam Gase, a move that is long overdue.

Last week, Perine saw his snap count increase from 57% to 70%, while Gore's decreased from 35% to 28%. With Sam Darnold back in the lineup, the Jets should be able to improve on offense. Their remaining schedule includes: @ KC, vs. NE, @ LAC, vs. MIA, @ SEA, @ LAR, and vs. CLE. Perine has seen three targets in each of the last two weeks, so he'll have a role in the passing game. Go grab him.

Jalen Reagor (WR, PHI)

14% Rostered

Reagor is eligible to come off injured reserve this week, just in time for a smash-spot against the Cowboys. There's a decent chance that he returns for this game, as he's currently ahead of his rehab schedule. With DeSean Jackson out with a significant ankle injury, Reagor will be the premier downfield threat for the Eagles right away. We saw him flash his potential with a 55-yard catch against Washington in Week 1. This is a first-round wide receiver in a loaded class who many observers believed had a chance to be the most productive rookie receiver.

The Eagles have a great schedule and Wentz looks terrific. Reagor has a clear path to targets as the Z-receiver next to Travis Fulgham. Like Lazard, Reagor will be an upside WR3 once he returns, with the potential for even more value later in the season.

Marquez Callaway (WR, NO)

1% Rostered

Callaway looked impressive last week, playing the Michael Thomas-role as the Saints' primary possession receiver, catching 8-of-10 targets for 75 yards against the Panthers. This is an undrafted rookie receiver with 80th-percentile scores in burst and breakout age. You can take a look at the significance of a wide receiver's breakout age right here.

Emmanuel Sanders is currently out with COVID-19. Michael Thomas is injured and continues to be mentioned in trade rumors. While a trade is unlikely, the fact that there are rumblings suggest that the team is having issues with Thomas' behavior. We've already seen them suspend Thomas for an altercation during practice. These rumors also show how high the team is on Callaway. The Saints remaining schedule: @ CHI, @ TB, vs. SF, vs. ATL, @ DEN, @ ATL, @ PHI, vs. KC, and vs. MIN. Stash Callaway.
